Then King Solomon summoned into his presence at Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Zion, the City of David.

Then King Solomon sent for the elders of Israel. He told them to come to him in Jerusalem. They included all the leaders of the tribes. They also included the chiefs of the families of Israel. Solomon wanted them to bring up the ark of the Lord’ s covenant from Zion. Zion was the City of David.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers’ houses of the people of Israel, before King Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, which is Zion.

Solomon then summoned to Jerusalem the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes— the leaders of the ancestral families of the Israelites. They were to bring the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant to the Temple from its location in the City of David, also known as Zion.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, with all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Yahweh’s covenant out of David’s city, which is Zion.

那時，所羅門把以色列的長老、各支派的首領和以色列人各家族的首領，都召集到耶路撒冷，要把耶和華的約櫃從大衛城，就是錫安運上來。於是，以色列眾人在七月的節期來到時，都聚集到王那裡。以色列的眾長老來到了，利未人就抬起約櫃。他們把約櫃、會幕和會幕裡的一切神聖器皿都抬上來；是祭司和利未人把它們抬上來的。所羅門王和那些聚集到他那裡的以色列全體會眾，都在約櫃前獻上牛羊為祭，數量無法計算，不能數點。眾祭司把耶和華的約櫃抬進放約櫃的地方，就是內殿，至聖所裡面，放在兩個基路伯的翅膀底下。基路伯在約櫃上面張開翅膀，遮蓋著約櫃和抬約櫃的槓。那兩根槓很長，在內殿前可以看見約櫃那裡的槓頭，在殿外卻看不見；直到今日，那兩根槓還在那裡。約櫃裡只有兩塊石版，就是以色列人出埃及以後，耶和華和他們立約的時候，摩西在何烈山放進去的。

於是大衛和以色列的眾長老，以及千夫長一起前去，從俄別．以東的家歡歡喜喜地把耶和華的約櫃抬上來。

有人告訴大衛王：“耶和華因為神的約櫃的緣故，賜福給俄別‧以東的家和一切屬他的。”大衛就去，歡歡喜喜把神的約櫃從俄別‧以東的家中抬上大衛的城裡去。那些抬耶和華的約櫃的人走了六步，大衛就獻一頭公牛和一隻肥畜為祭。大衛束著細麻布的以弗得，在耶和華面前極力跳舞。這樣，大衛和以色列全家，以歡呼和角聲，把耶和華的約櫃抬了上來。耶和華的約櫃運進大衛城的時候，掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶往外觀看，看見大衛王在耶和華面前跳躍舞蹈，心裡就鄙視他。他們把耶和華的約櫃抬進去，安放在帳棚裡它自己的地方，就是安放在大衛給它支搭的帳棚裡，大衛就在耶和華面前獻上燔祭和平安祭。

所羅門醒來，原來是一個夢。於是他回到耶路撒冷，站在耶和華的約櫃前，獻上燔祭，又獻上平安祭，也為他的眾臣僕擺設筵席。

希西家派人走遍以色列和猶大，又寫信給以法蓮人和瑪拿西人，叫他們到耶路撒冷耶和華的殿來，守逾越節記念耶和華以色列的神。

所以主耶和華這樣說：“看哪！我在錫安放置一塊石頭，是試驗過的石頭，是穩固的基石，寶貴的房角石；信靠的人，必不著急。

我使我的公義臨近了，必不遠離；我的救恩必不遲延。我要為以色列，我的榮耀，在錫安施行拯救。”

大衛住在堡壘中，因此人把那堡壘稱為大衛城。

約書亞就把全體以色列人、他們的長老、首領、審判官和官長，都召了來，對他們說：“我已經老了，年紀不小了。

於是，大衛把以色列人都招聚到耶路撒冷，要把耶和華的約櫃抬上來，到大衛給它預備好的地方去。

使人在錫安傳揚耶和華的名，在耶路撒冷傳揚讚美他的話。

約書亞在示劍召集以色列各支派，又把以色列的長老、首領、審判官和官長都召了來，他們就站在神面前。

到了七月，各城裡的以色列人，如同一人，都在耶路撒冷聚集。

你們要歌頌住在錫安的耶和華，要在萬民中傳揚他的作為。

大衛卻攻取了錫安的保障，就是大衛的城。那一天大衛說：“攻打耶布斯人的，要把大衛心中恨惡的‘瞎子’和‘瘸子’丟進水溝裡。”因此有句俗語說：“瞎眼的或瘸腿的，都不能進殿裡。”後來大衛住在保障裡，稱保障為“大衛的城”。大衛又從米羅向裡面周圍築牆。

大衛與千夫長、百夫長和所有的領袖商議。然後大衛對以色列全體會眾說：“你們如果認為好，認為這事是出於耶和華我們的神，我們就差遣人走遍各地，去見留在以色列各地的兄弟，以及和他們在一起住在那些有草場的城的祭司和利未人，叫他們都聚集到我們這裡來。我們可以把我們神的約櫃運到我們這裡來，因為在掃羅的日子，我們都沒有在約櫃前求問神。”全體會眾都同意這樣行，因為這事眾人都認為對。於是大衛把以色列眾人，從埃及的西曷河直到哈馬口，都招聚來，要把神的約櫃從基列．耶琳運來。

以色列的眾領袖，就是他們父家的首領，都來奉獻；就是眾支派的領袖，是管理那些被數點的人的。他們把自己的供物帶到耶和華的面前，就是六輛篷車和十二頭公牛，每兩個領袖奉獻一輛篷車，每個領袖奉獻一頭公牛；他們把這些都送到帳幕的面前。

大衛又聚集以色列中所有揀選出來的三萬人。大衛和與他在一起的眾人起程前去，要從巴拉‧猶大把神的約櫃運來，這約櫃的名稱是以坐在二基路伯之上萬軍之耶和華的名字而起的。

耶和華的約櫃進了大衛城的時候，掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶往下觀看，看見大衛王跳躍嬉笑，心裡就鄙視他。他們把神的約櫃抬了進去，安放在大衛為它所搭的會幕中間，然後在神面前獻上了燔祭和平安祭。

因為經上記著：“看哪，我在錫安放了一塊石頭，就是所揀選所珍貴的房角石，信靠他的人，必不致失望。”

大衛把以色列的眾領袖：各支派的領袖、輪班服事王的領袖、千夫長、百夫長、掌管王和王子們一切財產與牲畜的領袖，以及太監、顯貴和所有英勇的戰士，都召集到耶路撒冷來。

他們到了拿艮的打禾場的時候，因為牛幾乎絆倒，烏撒就伸手扶住神的約櫃。
