Then King Solomon summoned into his presence at Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Zion, the City of David.

Then King Solomon sent for the elders of Israel. He told them to come to him in Jerusalem. They included all the leaders of the tribes. They also included the chiefs of the families of Israel. Solomon wanted them to bring up the ark of the Lord’ s covenant from Zion. Zion was the City of David.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers’ houses of the people of Israel, before King Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, which is Zion.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, with all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Yahweh’s covenant out of David’s city, which is Zion.

所羅門醒來，發現是在做夢。他回到耶路撒冷，站在耶和華的約櫃前獻上燔祭和平安祭，又宴請群臣。

希西迦派人通告以色列和猶大全境，又寫信通知以法蓮人和瑪拿西人，叫他們到耶路撒冷耶和華的殿，向以色列的上帝耶和華守逾越節。

所以主耶和華說：「看啊，我要在錫安放一塊基石，一塊經過考驗的石頭，一塊根基穩固的寶貴房角石，信靠的人必不致蒙羞。

我要親自施行公義，那一天已經不遠，我的救恩很快就會來臨。我要在錫安賜下救恩，把我的榮耀賜給以色列。

大衛佔據了堡壘，因此那堡壘就叫大衛城。

他召來了以色列的長老、族長、審判官和官長，對他們說：「我已經老了，

大衛召集以色列人到耶路撒冷，要把耶和華的約櫃抬到他所預備的地方。

這樣，萬族萬國聚集、敬拜耶和華時，人們必在錫安傳揚祂的名，在耶路撒冷讚美祂。

約書亞在示劍招聚以色列各支派，然後召來以色列的長老、族長、審判官和官長。他們一同站在上帝面前。

到了七月，以色列人已安居各城，他們萬眾一心地聚集在耶路撒冷。

要歌頌住在錫安的耶和華，在列邦傳揚祂的作為。

結果大衛的軍隊攻取了錫安的堡壘，即後來的大衛城。那天，大衛下令軍隊從地下水道爬進城去，攻打那些「瞎子、瘸子」，他憎惡這些耶布斯人。後來便有一句俗語：「瞎子、瘸子不得進殿！」大衛住在錫安的堡壘裡，並稱之為大衛城，他又從米羅興建環城圍牆。

大衛跟千夫長、百夫長等所有的首領商議，然後對以色列全體會眾說：「如果你們贊成，而且這是我們上帝耶和華的旨意，我們就派人到以色列各地把其他同胞，包括住在城邑及草場的祭司和利未人召集來。我們要將我們上帝的約櫃運到這裡來，因為在掃羅執政期間，我們忽視了它。」會眾都表示贊同，認為這樣做很好。於是，大衛召集了從埃及的西曷河一直到哈馬口的全體以色列人，要將上帝的約櫃從基列·耶琳運來。

然後，以色列各支派的首領，就是負責人口統計的各族長，都來奉獻。他們把供物帶到聖幕前獻給耶和華：每兩位首領奉獻一輛篷車，每位首領奉獻一頭公牛，共六輛篷車和十二頭公牛。

大衛召集了三萬名以色列精兵，率領他們到猶大的巴拉去接上帝的約櫃。這約櫃以坐在基路伯天使上面的萬軍之耶和華的名字命名。

耶和華的約櫃進大衛城的時候，掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶往外看，看見大衛王在興高采烈地跳舞，心裡就輕視他。眾人將上帝的約櫃抬進去，安放在大衛所搭的帳篷裡，然後在上帝面前獻上燔祭和平安祭。

因為聖經上說：「看啊，我在錫安放了一塊蒙揀選的寶貴房角石，信靠祂的人必不會蒙羞。」

大衛召以色列的眾首領到耶路撒冷。於是，各支派的首領、各班將領、千夫長、百夫長、負責王和王子的財產及牲畜的官員、宮廷侍臣、顯貴和勇士都來了，

他們走到拿肯的麥場時，拉車的牛失蹄，烏撒便伸手去扶上帝的約櫃。
