建殿是用採石場預備好了的石料；所以建殿的時候，在殿裡聽不到鎚子、斧頭或任何鐵器的聲音。

大衛預備了大量的鐵，做門扇上的釘子和鈎子；又預備了大量的銅，多得無法可稱；

因為除了那已經立好的根基以外，沒有人能立別的根基。那根基就是耶穌基督。如果有人用金、銀、寶石、草、木、禾稭，在這根基上建造，

從根基到屋檐，從外院到大院，這一切都是用貴重的石塊，按尺寸鑿好，用鋸子內外鋸齊的石塊建成的。

所以主耶和華這樣說：“看哪！我在錫安放置一塊石頭，是試驗過的石頭，是穩固的基石，寶貴的房角石；信靠的人，必不著急。

城牆有十二座根基，根基上有羊羔的十二使徒的名字。那對我說話的天使拿著一根金的蘆葦，要量那城、城門和城牆。城是四方的，長寬都一樣。天使用蘆葦量那城，共有二千四百公里（“二千四百公里”原文作“一萬二千司他町”），城的長、寬、高都一樣；又量了城牆，約有六十公尺（“六十公尺”原文作“一百四十四肘”）。天使用的標準，就是人量度的標準。城牆是用碧玉做的，城是用明淨像玻璃的純金做的。城牆的根基是用各樣寶石裝飾的：第一座根基是碧玉，第二座是藍寶石，第三座是瑪瑙，第四座是綠寶石，第五座是紅瑪瑙，第六座是紅寶石，第七座是黃璧璽，第八座是水蒼玉，第九座是紅璧璽，第十座是翡翠，第十一座是紫瑪瑙，第十二座是紫晶。十二個門是十二顆珍珠，每一個門是用一顆珍珠做的。城裡的街道是純金的，好像透明的玻璃。

因為經上記著：“看哪，我在錫安放了一塊石頭，就是所揀選所珍貴的房角石，信靠他的人，必不致失望。”所以這石頭，對你們信的人是寶貴的，但對那不信的人，卻是“建築工人所棄的石頭，成了房角的主要石頭。”
