但是有些流氓說：“這人怎能拯救我們呢？”就藐視他，也沒有送他禮物。掃羅卻沒有說甚麼。

從前大能的君王統治耶路撒冷，治理河西那邊的全地，接受他們繳稅、進貢和納糧。

所羅門統治列王，從幼發拉底河到非利士地，直到埃及的邊界。王在耶路撒冷使銀子好像石頭，使香柏木好像平原的桑樹那麼多。人們從埃及和各地把馬匹運到所羅門那裡。所羅門其餘的事蹟，一生的始末，不是都記在拿單先知的記錄上，示羅人亞希雅的預言上，以及先見易多論到尼八的兒子耶羅波安的啟示錄上嗎？所羅門在耶路撒冷作王統治全以色列共四十年。所羅門和他的列祖同睡，埋葬在他父親大衛的城裡；他的兒子羅波安接續他作王。

因此，耶和華使他統治的國穩固；猶大各地都給他進貢，所以約沙法的財富很多，極有尊榮。

因為所羅門統治大河西邊，從提弗薩直到迦薩的全境和大河西邊的列王，所以他的四境都平安無事。

你們腳掌所踏的地，都必屬於你們；從曠野到黎巴嫩，從幼發拉底河直到西海，都要作你們的境界。

他要執掌權柄，從這海到那海，從大河直到地極。住在曠野的人必向他屈身，他的仇敵必舔塵土。他施和海島的列王都必帶來禮物，示巴和西巴的列王都必獻上貢物。眾王都必向他俯伏，萬國都必服事他。

你們許願，總要向耶和華你們的神償還；所有在他周圍的人，都要把貢物帶來獻給那可敬畏的神。

亞述王撒縵以色上來攻擊他，他就臣服於他，並且向他進貢。

有很多人把供物帶到耶路撒冷獻給耶和華，又把很多寶物送給猶大王希西家；從此，希西家受到各國的尊重。
