He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, because he followed the ways of his father and mother and of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin.

Ahaziah did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He lived the way his father and mother had lived. He lived the way Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, had lived. Jeroboam had caused Israel to sin.

He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and walked in the way of his father and in the way of his mother and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

But he did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, following the example of his father and mother and the example of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had led Israel to sin.

只是從來沒有人像亞哈的；他受了他妻子耶洗別的引誘，出賣了他自己，行耶和華看為惡的事。

他照著亞哈家的道路而行，行耶和華看為惡的事，好像亞哈家一樣，因為他是亞哈家的女婿。

有一天，亞哈謝在撒瑪利亞，從樓上的窗戶掉下來，他就病了；於是他差派使者，對他們說：“你們去求問以革倫的神巴力．西卜，我這個病到底能否復原？”但耶和華的使者對提斯比人以利亞說：“你動身上去迎著撒瑪利亞王的使者，對他們說：‘你們去求問以革倫的神巴力．西卜，是因為以色列中沒有神嗎？因此，耶和華這樣說：你必不能從你躺上去的那張床上下來，因為你必定死。’”於是以利亞去了。眾使者回到亞哈謝那裡；他對他們說：“你們為甚麼回來呢？”他們對王說：“有一個人上來迎著我們，又對我們說：‘去吧，回到那差派你們的王那裡，對他說：耶和華這樣說：你派人去求問以革倫的神巴力．西卜，是因為以色列中沒有神嗎？因此，你必不能從你躺上去的那張床上下來，因為你必定死。’”王對他們說：“那上來迎著你們，又對你們說這番話的是個怎樣的人？”

亞哈謝也隨從亞哈家的道路，因為他母親教唆他行惡。

看哪！我站在門外敲門；如果有人聽見我的聲音就開門的，我要進到他那裡去，我要跟他在一起，他也要跟我在一起吃飯。

你反倒行惡，比那些在你以前的更壞；又去為自己製造了別的神和鑄造偶像惹我發怒，把我丟在背後。因此，我必使災禍臨到耶羅波安的家；我必剪除以色列中所有屬於耶羅波安的男丁，無論是自由的或是不自由的；我必剷除耶羅波安的家，像人掃除糞土一樣，直到完全除盡為止。屬於耶羅波安的人，死在城裡的，必被狗吃掉；死在田野的，必給空中的飛鳥吃掉。因為這是耶和華說的。’所以你起來，回家去吧，你的腳一進城，你的孩子就必死亡。以色列眾人要為他舉哀，把他埋葬；屬耶羅波安的人中，只有他可以入葬墳墓；因為在耶羅波安的家中，只有他向耶和華以色列的神顯出善行。耶和華必為自己興起一個王治理以色列，他必剪除耶羅波安家，今天就是時候了，就是現在！耶和華必擊打以色列人，他們就擺動，像蘆葦在水中擺動一樣。他要把以色列人從他賜給他們列祖的這塊美地上拔出來，把他們分散在幼發拉底河那邊，因為他們做了亞舍拉，惹耶和華發怒。為了耶羅波安所犯的罪，又為了他使以色列人所犯的罪，耶和華必丟棄以色列人。”

只是尼八的兒子耶羅波安使以色列人陷在罪中的那些罪，他卻堅持不捨，不肯脫離。

約蘭看見耶戶的時候，就說：“耶戶，平安嗎？”耶戶說：“你的母親耶洗別的淫行和邪術這麼多，還有平安嗎？”

於是她出去問母親：“我該求甚麼呢？”希羅底告訴她：“施洗的約翰的頭！”

暗利的兒子亞哈行耶和華看為惡的事，比他以前所有的王更厲害。亞哈犯了尼八的兒子耶羅波安所犯的罪，還以為是小事。他又娶了西頓王謁巴力的女兒耶洗別作妻子，去服事巴力，敬拜巴力。他在撒瑪利亞建築巴力廟，又在廟裡為巴力立了一座祭壇。亞哈又做了亞舍拉，亞哈所行的，惹耶和華以色列的神發怒，比他以前所有的以色列王更厲害。

王打定了主意，就做了兩個金牛犢，對眾民說：“以色列人哪，你們上耶路撒冷去實在夠了。看哪，這是你們的神，就是從埃及地領你們上來的那位。”他就把一個牛犢安放在伯特利，一個安放在但。這事成了以色列人的罪，因為眾民都到但那個牛犢面前敬拜。耶羅波安在邱壇那裡建殿，把不是利未子孫的平民立為祭司。耶羅波安又定了八月十五日為節期，像在猶大的節期一樣，他自己在祭壇上獻祭，他在伯特利也是這樣向他所鑄造的牛犢獻祭；他又在伯特利為他所建造的邱壇設立祭司。八月十五日，就是他心裡私定作為以色列人節期的日子，他在伯特利在自己所建的祭壇上獻祭燒香。
