Now the king of Aram had ordered his thirty-two chariot commanders,“ Do not fight with anyone, small or great, except the king of Israel.”

The king of Aram had given an order to his 32 chariot commanders. He had said,“ Fight only against the king of Israel. Don’t fight against anyone else.”

Now the king of Syria had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots,“ Fight with neither small nor great, but only with the king of Israel.”

Meanwhile, the king of Aram had issued these orders to his thirty two chariot commanders:“ Attack only the king of Israel. Don’t bother with anyone else!”

Now the king of Aram had ordered his thirty-two chariot commanders,“ Do not fight with anyone at all except the king of Israel.”

毋庸列王偕往、以武士長代之。

亞蘭王命車騎之長曰、大小軍旅、毋庸與戰、惟攻以色列王而已。

亞蘭王便哈達、集其軍旅、備其車馬、同盟者三十二王、遂往環攻撒馬利亞、

所有之婦女不殺一人、無論貴賤、悉擄以去。

其人細聆其言、隨機應曰、爾兄弟便哈達尚在。王命之至。便哈達遂出、王令同車。便哈達曰、昔我先人所奪爾父之邑、我必反爾、我先人在撒馬利亞作衢、今爾在大馬色亦可作衢、亞哈曰、既結此約、可令爾歸。於是結約、而使之去。○有先知之徒、奉耶和華命、告於同儕曰、爾可擊我。同儕不從。先知之徒曰、因爾不聽耶和華命、離我之時、必見殺於獅。同儕離之、果為獅所殺。又遇一人曰、爾可擊我。擊之致傷。先知遂往、俟於途側、以迓王至、改其儀容、以巾掩面。王過時、則呼曰、臣僕往戰、有人執其敵、命我守之、曰、如其不在、爾必償命、或罰金千有五百。僕顧左右、不覺其人已逸。以色列王曰、循爾所言、必鞫爾事。速去其巾、面遂顯露。以色列王乃知為先知之徒。先知之徒曰、耶和華云、我欲殲滅者、爾反釋之、故必以爾命償其命、以爾民代其民。

使眾於門外、自老迄幼、目眯不明、索門不得。○

自尊達卑、皆死斯土、無人瘞埋、無人哭泣、不為之薙髮、不為之割肉。

日中而出、見便哈達與同盟之三十二王、於幕中、飲酒已醉。
