Some time later there was an incident involving a vineyard belonging to Naboth the Jezreelite. The vineyard was in Jezreel, close to the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

Some time later King Ahab wanted a certain vineyard. It belonged to Naboth from Jezreel. The vineyard was in Jezreel. It was close to the palace of Ahab, the king of Samaria.

Now Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard in Jezreel, beside the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

霎時間，天因風雲黑暗，降下大雨。亞哈就坐上車，往耶斯列去了。耶和華的手按在以利亞身上，他就束上腰，奔在亞哈前頭，一路到耶斯列。

這亞哈斯王在急難的時候，越發得罪耶和華。

那時，所有的米甸人、亞瑪力人和東邊的人都聚集在一起，過了河，在耶斯列平原安營。

耶和華啊，你的眼目不是在尋找誠實嗎？你擊打他們，他們卻不傷慟；你摧毀他們，他們仍不領受管教。他們使臉剛硬過於磐石，不肯回頭。

非利士人聚集他們所有的軍隊到亞弗；以色列人在耶斯列的泉旁安營。

他們的地界是到耶斯列、基蘇律、書念、

耶和華對何西阿說：「給他起名叫耶斯列；因為再過片時，我要懲罰耶戶家在耶斯列流人血的罪，也必終結以色列家的王朝。到那日，我必在耶斯列平原折斷以色列的弓。」

這百姓還沒有歸向擊打他們的主，也沒有尋求萬軍之耶和華。

有一個人是先知的門徒，遵照耶和華的話對他同伴說：「你打我吧！」那人不肯打他。他就對那人說：「你既不聽從耶和華的話，看哪，你一離開我，必有獅子咬死你。」那人一離開他，果然遇見獅子，把他咬死了。先知的門徒又遇見一個人，對他說：「你打我吧！」那人就打他，把他打傷。那先知就去了，用頭巾蒙眼，改了裝，在路旁等候王。王從那裏經過，他向王呼叫說：「僕人出戰的時候，看哪，有人轉過來，帶了一個人到我這裏來，說：『你要看守這人，若他真的失蹤了，你的性命必代替他的性命，否則，你就要交出一他連得銀子來。』僕人正在到處忙碌的時候，那人就不見了。」以色列王對他說：「你自己決定了，就必照樣判你。」他急忙除掉蒙眼的頭巾，以色列王就認出他是一個先知。他對王說：「耶和華如此說：『因你把我決定要消滅的人從你手中放走，所以你的命必代替他的命，你的百姓必代替他的百姓。』」於是以色列王生氣，憂悶地回撒瑪利亞，到自己的宮去了。

我們因自己的惡行和大罪，遭遇這一切的事，但你－我們的神懲罰我們輕於我們罪所當得的，又為我們留下這些殘存之民。我們豈可再違背你的誡命，與行這些可憎之事的民族結親呢？若我們這樣行，你豈不向我們發怒，將我們滅絕，以致沒有一個餘民或殘存之民嗎？
