Some time later there was an incident involving a vineyard belonging to Naboth the Jezreelite. The vineyard was in Jezreel, close to the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

Some time later King Ahab wanted a certain vineyard. It belonged to Naboth from Jezreel. The vineyard was in Jezreel. It was close to the palace of Ahab, the king of Samaria.

Now Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard in Jezreel, beside the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

Now there was a man named Naboth, from Jezreel, who owned a vineyard in Jezreel beside the palace of King Ahab of Samaria.

霎時之間，天空因風雲而變為黑暗，隨著降下大雨來。於是亞哈坐上了車，往耶斯列去了。耶和華的能力臨到以利亞的身上，以利亞就束上腰，跑在亞哈的前頭，直跑到耶斯列的城門口。

這亞哈斯王在急難的時候，竟越發冒犯耶和華。

那時，米甸人、亞瑪力人和東方人，都聚集起來，過了河，在耶斯列平原安營。

耶和華啊！你的眼目不是要看誠實的事嗎？你擊打他們，他們卻不覺得傷痛；你摧毀他們，他們仍不肯接受管教。他們板著臉，臉皮比磐石還硬，總不肯回轉。

非利士人把他們所有的軍隊都聚集在亞弗，以色列人卻在耶斯列的泉旁安營。

他們的境界包括耶斯列、基蘇律、書念、

耶和華就對何西阿說：“給他起名叫耶斯列；因為不久我就要懲罰耶戶家在耶斯列流人血的罪，我要滅絕以色列家的國。“到那日，我要在耶斯列平原折斷以色列的弓。”

這人民還沒有回轉、歸向那擊打他們的萬軍之耶和華，也沒有尋求他。

先知門徒中有一個人奉耶和華的命令對他的一個同伴說：“你打我吧！”可是，那人卻不肯打他。他就對那人說：“因為你不聽從耶和華的話，你一離開我，就必有獅子咬死你。”那人一離開他，果然遇見了獅子，把他咬死。先知的門徒又遇見另一個人，對他說：“你打我吧！”那人就打他，把他打傷。於是那先知去了，在路旁等候王。他用頭巾蒙住自己的眼睛，把自己改了裝。王從那裡經過的時候，他向王呼叫說：“你僕人出征，在戰陣之中，忽然有一個人轉過來，帶了另一個人來見我，說：‘你看守這個人，他若是走失了，就要你替他償命，否則你要支付三十公斤銀子。’你僕人正在忙這忙那的時候，那人就不見了。”以色列王對他說：“你的判案就是這樣，你已經自己判決了。”他急忙把蒙在眼上的頭巾除下，以色列王就認出他是一個先知。先知對王說：“耶和華這樣說：因為你把我要滅絕的人從你手中放走，所以要你替他償命。要你的人民抵償他的人民。”於是以色列王悶悶不樂回到撒瑪利亞，自己的王宮裡去了。

雖然因著我們許多的惡行和重大的罪過，這一切就臨到我們身上，但我們的神啊，你懲罰我們實在輕於我們的罪孽所應得的，還給我們留下這些逃脫的人。我們怎可以再違背你的誡命，與這些行可憎事的民族通婚呢？如果我們這樣行，你豈不向我們發怒，消滅我們，以致沒有一個剩餘，或是逃脫的人嗎？
