亞哈說：「藉着誰呢？」他回答說：「耶和華說，藉着跟從省長的少年人。」亞哈說：「要誰率領呢？」他說：「要你親自率領。」

亚哈说：“藉着谁呢？”他回答说：“耶和华说，藉着跟从省长的少年人。”亚哈说：“要谁率领呢？”他说：“要你亲自率领。”

亚哈说：“藉着谁呢？”他说：“耶和华如此说：‘藉着跟从省长的年轻人。’”亚哈说：“谁要开战呢？”他说：“你！”

亚哈问：“谁来完成这任务呢？”先知答道：“耶和华说，省长属下的青年军。”亚哈问：“谁来做统领呢？”先知答道：“你。”

亞哈說：『藉着誰呢？』他回答說：『永恆主這麼說：「藉着諸省長的侍從官。」』亞哈說：『誰要先開戰呢？』他說：『就是你。』

亞哈曰、藉誰乎、曰、耶和華云、藉諸州方伯之少者、曰、誰啟戰、曰、爾、

亞哈曰、孰能勝任。曰、諸方伯之僕。曰、誰堪列陳。曰、爾。

亞哈曰、以誰與戰、曰、主如是云、以從方伯之少者、曰、誰率之、曰、爾、

“ But who will do this?” asked Ahab. The prophet replied,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ The junior officers under the provincial commanders will do it.’”“ And who will start the battle?” he asked. The prophet answered,“ You will.”

“ But who will do it?” Ahab asked. The prophet answered,“ The Lord says,‘ The junior officers who are under the area commanders will do it.’ ”“ And who will start the battle?” Ahab asked. The prophet answered,“ You will.”

And Ahab said,“ By whom?” He said,“ Thus says the Lord, By the servants of the governors of the districts.” Then he said,“ Who shall begin the battle?” He answered,“ You.”

Ahab asked,“ How will he do it?” And the prophet replied,“ This is what the Lord says: The troops of the provincial commanders will do it.”“ Should we attack first?” Ahab asked.“ Yes,” the prophet answered.

Ahab asked,“ By whom?” And the prophet said,“ This is what the LORD says:‘ By the young men of the provincial leaders.’” Then he asked,“ Who is to start the battle?” He said,“ You.”

But Ahab said,“ By whom?” So he said,“ The Lord says this:‘ By the young men of the leaders of the provinces.’ ” Then he said,“ Who will begin the battle?” And he said,“ You will.”

So Ahab said,“ By whom?” And he said,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ By the young leaders of the provinces.’” Then he said,“ Who will set the battle in order?” And he answered,“ You.”

And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus saith Jehovah, By the young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, Who shall begin the battle? And he answered, Thou.

Ahab asked,“ By whom?” And the prophet said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ By the young men of the provincial leaders.’” Then he asked,“ Who is to start the battle?” He said,“ You.”

And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus saith the LORD,[ Even] by the young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, Who shall order the battle? And he answered, Thou.

Ahab asked,“ By whom will this be accomplished?” He answered,“ This is what the LORD says,‘ By the servants of the district governors.’” Ahab asked,“ Who will launch the attack?” He answered,“ You will.”

Ahab said,“ By whom?” He said,“ Yahweh says,‘ By the young men of the princes of the provinces.’” Then he said,“ Who shall begin the battle?” He answered,“ You.”

這樣，大衛用機弦甩石，勝了那非利士人，打死他；大衛手中卻沒有刀。

神卻揀選了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧；又揀選了世上軟弱的，叫那強壯的羞愧。神也揀選了世上卑賤的，被人厭惡的，以及那無有的，為要廢掉那有的，使一切有血氣的，在神面前一個也不能自誇。

於是基甸將三百人分作三隊，把角和空瓶交在各人手裏（瓶內都藏着火把），吩咐他們說：「你們要看我行事：我到了營的旁邊怎樣行，你們也要怎樣行。我和一切跟隨我的人吹角的時候，你們也要在營的四圍吹角，喊叫說：『耶和華和基甸的刀！』」基甸和跟隨他的一百人，在三更之初才換更的時候，來到營旁，就吹角，打破手中的瓶。三隊的人就都吹角，打破瓶子，左手拿着火把，右手拿着角，喊叫說：「耶和華和基甸的刀！」

第七次僕人說：「我看見有一小片雲從海裏上來，不過如人手那樣大。」以利亞說：「你上去告訴亞哈，當套車下去，免得被雨阻擋。」

亞伯蘭聽見他姪兒被擄去，就率領他家裏生養的精練壯丁三百一十八人，直追到但，便在夜間，自己同僕人分隊殺敗敵人，又追到大馬士革左邊的何把，將被擄掠的一切財物奪回來，連他姪兒羅得和他的財物，以及婦女、人民也都奪回來。
