王又對示每說：“你自己知道你心裡的一切惡事，就是你向我父親大衛所行的；現在耶和華要把你的罪歸到你的頭上。

又曰、昔爾行於我父大衛之惡、爾心所存、爾悉知之、今耶和華必使爾惡、歸於爾首、

又曰、昔爾以惡待我父大闢、爾心所知、今耶和華必因是惡而報施焉。

王又謂示每曰、昔爾以惡待我父大衛、爾心所知、今主因爾此惡、使罪歸於爾首、

The king also said to Shimei,“ You know in your heart all the wrong you did to my father David. Now the Lord will repay you for your wrongdoing.

The king continued,“ You know all the wrong things you did to my father David. In your heart you know them. Now the Lord will pay you back for what you did.

The king also said to Shimei,“ You know in your own heart all the harm that you did to David my father. So the Lord will bring back your harm on your own head.

The king also said to Shimei,“ You certainly remember all the wicked things you did to my father, David. May the Lord now bring that evil on your own head.

The king also said,“ You yourself know all the evil that you did to my father David. Therefore, the LORD has brought back your evil on your head,

The king also said to Shimei,“ You yourself know all the evil that you acknowledge in your heart, which you did to my father David; therefore the Lord will return your evil on your own head.

The king said moreover to Shimei,“ You know, as your heart acknowledges, all the wickedness that you did to my father David; therefore the Lord will return your wickedness on your own head.

The king said moreover to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickedness which thy heart is privy to, that thou didst to David my father: therefore Jehovah shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head.

The king also said,“ You yourself know all the evil that you did to my father David. Therefore, the Lord has brought back your evil on your head,

Then the king said to Shimei,“ You are well aware of the way you mistreated my father David. The LORD will punish you for what you did.

大衛王來到巴戶琳的時候，忽然有一人從那裡出來，他是屬掃羅家族的，名叫示每，是基拉的兒子。他一邊出來，一邊咒罵；又拿石頭投擲大衛和大衛王所有的臣僕，那時眾人和眾勇士都在王的左右。示每咒罵的時候，這樣說：“你這流人血的人啊，滾開！你這無賴啊，滾開！你流了掃羅全家的血，接替掃羅作王，耶和華已經把這罪報應在你身上；耶和華已經把這國交在你兒子押沙龍的手裡。看哪！你現在自取其禍了，因為你是個流人血的人。”洗魯雅的兒子亞比篩對王說：“為甚麼讓這條死狗咒罵我主我王呢？讓我過去，把他的頭砍下來。”王說：“洗魯雅的兒子啊，我與你們有甚麼關係呢？如果他咒罵是因為耶和華對他說：‘你要咒罵大衛！’那麼誰敢說：‘你為甚麼這樣作呢？’”大衛又對亞比篩和他所有的臣僕說：“看哪！連我親生的兒子尚且尋索我的命，何況這便雅憫人呢？由他去吧，由他咒罵吧！因為這是耶和華吩咐他的。也許耶和華看見我的苦難，就施恩與我，以取代今天這人對我的咒罵。”於是大衛和跟從他的人繼續在大路上往前去。示每也沿著山坡，與大衛並排而行，一邊走，一邊咒罵，又用石頭投擲他，拿塵土揚他。

他的惡毒必回到自己的頭上，他的強暴必落在自己的頭頂上。

大衛聽見拿八死了，就說：“耶和華是應當稱頌的，因為他為我伸了拿八羞辱我的冤，又阻止了僕人行惡，也使拿八的惡歸到他自己的頭上。”於是大衛派人去對亞比該說要娶她作他的妻子。

因此主耶和華這樣說：我指著我的永生起誓：他既然藐視我的誓言，背棄我的約，我必使這罪歸到他的頭上。

耶和華必使約押流無辜人的血的罪歸到他自己頭上，因為他擊殺了兩個比他又公義又良善的人，就是用刀殺了以色列的元帥尼珥的兒子押尼珥，和猶大的元帥益帖的兒子亞瑪撒，這事我的父親大衛一點都不知道。願流這二人的血的罪歸到約押和他後裔的頭上，直到永遠；但大衛和他的後裔，他的家和他的國卻要從耶和華那裡得享平安，直到永遠。”

他們聽了這話，就從年老的開始，一個一個地都離開了，留下的只有耶穌和那個還站在那裡的婦人。

所以，祭司怎樣，人民也怎樣。我必按他們的行為懲罰他們，照他們的行為報應他們。

這就表明律法的作用是刻在他們的心裡，有他們的良心一同作證，他們的思想互相較量，或作控告、或作辯護。

惡人必被自己的罪孽捉住，他必被自己罪惡的繩索纏住。
