“ I have one small request to make of you,” she said.“ Do not refuse me.” The king replied,“ Make it, my mother; I will not refuse you.”

“ I have one small favor to ask of you,” she said.“ Don’t say no to me.” The king replied,“ Mother, go ahead and ask. I won’t say no to you.”

Then she said,“ I have one small request to make of you; do not refuse me.” And the king said to her,“ Make your request, my mother, for I will not refuse you.”

“ I have one small request to make of you,” she said.“ I hope you won’t turn me down.”“ What is it, my mother?” he asked.“ You know I won’t refuse you.”

Then she said,“ I have just one small request of you. Don’t turn me down.”“ Go ahead and ask, mother,” the king replied,“ for I won’t turn you down.”

Then she said,“ I am making one small request of you; do not refuse me.” And the king said to her,“ Ask, my mother, for I will not refuse you.”

Then she said,“ I desire one small petition of you; do not refuse me.” And the king said to her,“ Ask it, my mother, for I will not refuse you.”

Then she said, I ask one small petition of thee; deny me not. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother; for I will not deny thee.

Then she said,“ I have just one small request of you. Don’t turn me down.”“ Go ahead and ask, mother,” the king replied,“ for I won’t turn you down.”

Then she said, I desire one small petition of thee;[ I pray thee], say me not nay. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay.

She said,“ I would like to ask you for just one small favor. Please don’t refuse me.” He said,“ Go ahead and ask, my mother, for I would not refuse you.”

Then she said,“ I ask one small petition of you; don’t deny me.” The king said to her,“ Ask on, my mother; for I will not deny you.”

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit— fruit that will last— and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. (niv)

“ Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. (niv)

When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him,“ They have no more wine.”“ Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied.“ My hour has not yet come.” (niv)

But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.” (niv)

Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him.“ What is it you want?” he asked. She said,“ Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.” (niv)

“ So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (niv)

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. (niv)

For I have come to turn“‘ a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’ (niv)
