Also, anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah to succeed you as prophet.

Also anoint Jehu as king over Israel. He is the son of Nimshi. And anoint Elisha from Abel Meholah as the next prophet after you. He is the son of Shaphat.

And Jehu the son of Nimshi you shall anoint to be king over Israel, and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah you shall anoint to be prophet in your place.

Then anoint Jehu grandson of Nimshi to be king of Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from the town of Abel meholah to replace you as my prophet.

You are to anoint Jehu son of Nimshi as king over Israel and Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel-meholah as prophet in your place.

You shall also anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi king over Israel; and you shall anoint Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel meholah as prophet in your place.

於是，以利亞離開那裏走了，遇見沙法的兒子以利沙耕地；在他前頭有十二對牛，自己趕着第十二對。以利亞到他那裏去，將自己的外衣搭在他身上。以利沙就離開牛，跑到以利亞那裏，說：「求你容我先與父母親嘴，然後我便跟隨你。」以利亞對他說：「你回去吧，我向你做了甚麼呢？」以利沙就離開他回去，宰了一對牛，用套牛的器具煮肉給民吃，隨後就起身跟隨以利亞，服事他。

先知以利沙叫了一個先知門徒來，吩咐他說：「你束上腰，手拿這瓶膏油往基列的拉末去。到了那裏，要尋找寧示的孫子、約沙法的兒子耶戶，使他從同僚中起來，帶他進嚴密的屋子，將瓶裏的膏油倒在他頭上，說：『耶和華如此說：我膏你作以色列王。』說完了，就開門逃跑，不要遲延。」於是那少年先知往基列的拉末去了。到了那裏，看見眾軍長都坐着，就說：「將軍哪，我有話對你說。」耶戶說：「我們眾人裏，你要對哪一個說呢？」回答說：「將軍哪，我要對你說。」耶戶就起來，進了屋子，少年人將膏油倒在他頭上，對他說：「耶和華－以色列的神如此說：『我膏你作耶和華民以色列的王。你要擊殺你主人亞哈的全家，我好在耶洗別身上伸我僕人眾先知和耶和華一切僕人流血的冤。亞哈全家必都滅亡，凡屬亞哈的男丁，無論是困住的、自由的，我必從以色列中剪除，使亞哈的家像尼八兒子耶羅波安的家，又像亞希雅兒子巴沙的家。耶洗別必在耶斯列田裏被狗所吃，無人葬埋。』」說完了，少年人就開門逃跑了。耶戶出來，回到他主人的臣僕那裏，有一人問他說：「平安嗎？這狂妄的人來見你有甚麼事呢？」回答說：「你們認得那人，也知道他說甚麼。」他們說：「這是假話，你據實地告訴我們。」回答說：「他如此如此對我說。他說：『耶和華如此說：我膏你作以色列王。』」他們就急忙各將自己的衣服鋪在上層臺階，使耶戶坐在其上；他們吹角，說：「耶戶作王了！」這樣，寧示的孫子、約沙法的兒子耶戶背叛約蘭。先是約蘭和以色列眾人因為亞蘭王哈薛的緣故，把守基列的拉末；

住耶利哥的先知門徒從對面看見他，就說：「感動以利亞的靈感動以利沙了。」他們就來迎接他，在他面前俯伏於地，

過去之後，以利亞對以利沙說：「我未曾被接去離開你，你要我為你做甚麼，只管求我。」以利沙說：「願感動你的靈加倍地感動我。」

在他納和米吉多，並靠近撒拉他拿、耶斯列下邊的伯‧善全地，從伯‧善到亞伯‧米何拉直到約念之外，有亞希律的兒子巴拿；

三百人就吹角，耶和華使全營的人用刀互相擊殺，逃到西利拉的伯‧哈示他，直逃到靠近他巴的亞伯‧米何拉。

先知以利沙的時候，以色列中有許多長大痲瘋的，但內中除了敘利亞國的乃縵，沒有一個得潔淨的。」
