现在你要派人去召集以色列众人，以及耶洗别所供养的四百五十个巴力的先知和四百个亚舍拉的先知，叫他们都上迦密山到我这里来。”亚哈就派人到以色列众人那里，召集先知上迦密山。

希西家就转脸朝墙，向耶和华祷告，

疏散了众人以后，他独自上山去祷告。到了晚上，只有他一人在那里。

上有撒拉弗侍立，各有六个翅膀：两个翅膀遮脸，两个翅膀遮脚，两个翅膀飞翔，

在圣者的会中，他是大有威严的神，比在他四围所有的更可畏惧。

在那些日子，耶稣出去，上山祈祷，整夜向神祷告。

所以，你们要彼此认罪，互相代求，使你们得医治。义人祈祷所发的力量是大有功效的。以利亚与我们是同样性情的人，他恳切地祈求不要下雨，地上就三年六个月没有下雨。他又祷告，天就降下雨来，地就有了出产。

说：“我的神啊，我抱愧蒙羞，不敢向你—我的神仰面，因为我们的罪孽多到灭顶，我们的罪恶滔天。

大卫为这孩子恳求神。大卫刻苦禁食，到里面去，躺在地上过夜。

亚伯拉罕的仆人听见他们这些话，就向耶和华俯伏在地。

他就稍往前走，俯伏在地，祷告说，如果可能，就叫那时候离开他。
