At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed:“ Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command.

又曰、我乃爾祖之上帝、即亞伯拉罕之上帝、以撒之上帝、雅各之上帝、摩西蒙其面、不敢覲上帝。

至午後、近獻祭之時、彼偽為憑神而言、實無聲響、亦無應對而垂顧之者。

則爾在天、居於明宮、俯聞厥祈、應其所求、使天下億兆、悉知爾名、畏懼於爾、與爾民以色列族無異、亦知我所建之殿、為籲爾名之所。

摩西曰、耶和華遣我行此、我弗擅行、有明徵焉、倘彼得終天年、與眾無異、則知耶和華未嘗遣我、倘耶和華行事維新、使地口翕張、吞噬其眾、生墮坎阱、則其人之欺悔耶和華、由此可見矣。

今禱我上帝耶和華、救我脫於其手、使天下列國咸知、耶和華獨為上帝。

昔我於異象中、目睹加伯列、今獻夕祭祈禱之時、加伯列迅速而飛、前來撫余、

凡凜遵以色列族上帝之道者、聞被虜而歸之眾、干犯罪戾、咸來見我、我愕然而坐、越至薄暮、獻祭之時、憂心悄悄、裂衣曲跽、向天舉手、禱我上帝耶和華、

米該亞曰、如爾安歸、則我未奉耶和華之命、又曰、斯民之眾、宜共聽聞、

求吾主耶穌基督之上帝、即榮耀之父、賜爾以智慧、默示之神、使爾識主、

晨一、暮一、清晨獻羔、宜取粉六升、和清油二斤有半、酒二斤有半、以為灌奠。既暮獻羔、所行之禮、所灌之奠、一如清晨彼為燔祭、取其馨香、以奉事我耶和華。

以利亞至民前曰、爾曹執持兩端、躊躇未決、將伊於何底乎。如以耶和華為上帝、則從耶和華、如以巴力為上帝、則從巴力。斯民無言以對。

耶和華之使告的庇人以利亞曰、爾往迓撒馬利亞王之使者、告之曰、在以色列中豈無上帝、乃往詢以革倫之上帝巴力西卜乎。

今日耶和華以爾付於我手、我將擊爾、斬爾首級、以爾眾之尸骸、給於飛鳥走獸、使天下億兆咸知、以色列族有上帝。亦使斯大會知耶和華救人、非藉劍戟、其使人獲勝者、乃任意以行、將付爾於我手。

上帝兮、求爾矜憫、錫予純嘏、色相光華、普照我兮、爾救世之道、使天下萬國咸知兮、

曰、有人迓我、使我以耶和華所言、反告於王云、在以色列中、豈無上帝、乃遣人詢以革倫之上帝巴力西卜乎。故爾寢於床、不得再下、至於死亡。

惟如是凡厥庶民、咸知爾耶和華至高無二、治理寰宇兮。

列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列之上帝耶和華與、願使爾民恆懷斯心、以奉事爾、

又曰、必告以色列族遣爾者、乃其祖之上帝、亞伯拉罕之上帝、以撒之上帝、雅各之上帝、耶和華是此我恆久之名、歷世為誌。爾往屬以色列長老、而告之曰、爾祖之上帝亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各之上帝耶和華、顯現於我、曰、我眷顧爾、爾於埃及所受、我無不鑒之。

願亞伯拉罕之上帝、拿鶴之上帝、及其祖之上帝、折中於爾我間。雅各惟指其父以撒所畏之上帝而誓。

自去日所獻之祭品、置殘賊可惡之物於彼、必閱一千二百九十日、

是夜耶和華顯現、謂之曰、勿懼、我乃爾父亞伯拉罕之上帝、為我僕亞伯拉罕故、我必佑爾、錫嘏於爾、蕃衍爾苗裔。

我知爾常聽我、第言此、使環立者信爾遣我也、

禱曰、我列祖之上帝耶和華、穹蒼之上帝、萬國之主宰、爾有能力、莫之敢禦。昔有人居斯土、上帝啟以色列族而驅之、亞伯拉罕為上帝所眷顧、遂以斯土錫其苗裔、俾為恆業。

我聞聖使相語曰、民犯罪戾、都城遭毀、日獻之祭品、悉已棄捐、聖所祭司、俱遭蹂躪、所見之異象、將應於何時、

我將使我民以色列族、知我聖名、不復玩瀆、使異邦人、皆知我乃以色列族之聖主耶和華、

遂禱曰吾祖亞伯拉罕之上帝、吾父以撒之上帝耶和華、昔命我回故土、故族、許以恩待、

我乃亞伯拉罕之上帝、以撒之上帝、雅各之上帝也、是上帝非死者之上帝、乃生者之上帝也、

為此、吾曲跽於吾主耶穌基督父前、

容我聲聞於上、有若馨香、視我舉手以拜、有若夕祭兮。

曰、我乃上帝、即爾父之上帝、爾往埃及勿懼、我必昌熾爾族、使成大國。
