以利亞謂民曰、為主之先知者、惟存我一人、巴力之先知、有四百五十人、

Then Elijah said to them,“ I am the only one of the Lord’s prophets left, but Baal has four hundred and fifty prophets.

Then Elijah said to the people,“ I, even I only, am left a prophet of the Lord, but Baal’s prophets are 450 men.

Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, am left a prophet of Jehovah; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men.

蓋後必有人厭聞正道之教、喜聽悅耳之言、狥私慾而多增其師、又掩耳不聽真理、專向虛誕之詞、

以色列王乃集先知、約四百人、謂之曰、我欲往基列之拉末以戰、可否、曰、可往、往原文作上主必付之於王手、約沙法曰、在此尚有主之先知否、若有、我儕當問之、以色列王對約沙法曰、尚有一人音拉子米該雅、可藉之問主、然我憾此人、因其論我預言、無吉惟凶、約沙法曰、王勿如是言、

今爾當遣人集以色列人眾、亦集耶洗別所供養四百五十事巴力之先知、與四百事亞舍拉之先知、咸至迦密山見我、亞哈遂遣人遍行以色列境、集以色列人眾與諸先知至迦密山、

昔時民間有偽先知、如爾中將有偽師、私傳敗壞之異端、敗壞之異端或作害人之異端不認贖彼之主、自取速亡、將有多人、從其邪行、真道因之受謗、彼由貪婪、以飾言惑爾、視如貿易得利、彼受鞫見罰、自古擬定、速至不遲、彼之淪亡即臨、即臨原文作不寢

主、彼殺爾先知、毀爾祭臺、獨我遺留、又欲害我命、

先知遂往、以巾掩面、立於道旁、以俟王過、

爾曹當進窄門、蓋引至淪亡、其門闊、其路寛、入之者多、引至永生、其門窄、其路狹、得之者少、○謹防偽先知、其就爾、外似羊、內實豺狼、

有先知至以色列王亞哈前、曰、主如是云、此大軍旅、爾見之乎、今日我必付於爾手、使爾知我乃主、
