My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast[ them] into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.

And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word:

Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand[ for] the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
