那些总督、行政官、省长和王的谋士上前围观，见火焰没有烧伤他们的身体，他们的头发没有烧焦，衣服没有烧坏，身上甚至没有火燎的气味。尼布甲尼撒说：“沙得拉、米煞、亚伯尼歌的上帝当受称颂！祂差遣天使拯救那些信靠祂的仆人。他们无视王命，宁肯死也不供奉、祭拜其他神明。

我的上帝差遣天使封住了狮子的口，不让它们伤害我，因为我在上帝面前是清白的。王啊，我在你面前也没有过错。”王非常高兴，便命人把但以理从坑中拉上来。于是，但以理从坑中被拉了上来，他因为信靠他的上帝，身上毫无损伤。王下令把那些恶意控告但以理的人及其儿女妻子都带来，扔进狮子坑。他们还没到坑底，狮子便扑上去，咬碎了他们的骨头。

突然间发生大地震，整座监狱的地基都摇动起来，牢门立刻全开了，囚犯的锁链也都松开了。

于是，有火从耶和华面前出来吞噬了他们，他们就死在耶和华面前。

乌鸦每天早晚为他叼来饼和肉，他喝溪里的水。

因为王的命令紧急，窑烧得非常热，火焰烧死了那些抬沙得拉、米煞、亚伯尼歌的人。

要在世上赞美耶和华，海中的巨兽和深渊啊，火焰、冰雹、雪花、云霞和听祂吩咐的狂风啊，

难道你们不敬畏我吗？这是耶和华说的。难道你们在我面前不颤抖吗？我以沙石为海的界限，使水永远不能越过它。汹涌的波涛不能逾越，澎湃的海浪不能漫过。但你们这些人顽固不化，悖逆成性。你们离我而去。

他们凭信心战胜了敌国，行了公义，得到了应许，堵住了狮子的口，熄灭了猛烈的火焰，刀下逃生，由软弱变为刚强，作战勇猛，击退外敌。

说，‘你到此为止，不可越界；你狂傲的波涛要停在这里。’
