所有以前認識掃羅的人，看見他和他們一起受感說話，就彼此說：“基士的兒子怎麼啦！掃羅也列在先知中間嗎？”

粉刷那牆的人，就是以色列的眾先知；他們指著耶路撒冷說預言，在沒有平安的時候，為這城見平安的異象。這是主耶和華的宣告。

神迎見巴蘭；巴蘭對神說：“我已經預備了七座祭壇，在各座祭壇上獻了一頭公牛和一隻公綿羊。”耶和華把話傳給巴蘭，又說：“你要回到巴勒那裡去，要這樣這樣說。”

（人若不知道怎樣管理自己的家，怎能照料神的教會呢？）

到那日，必有許多人對我說：‘主啊，主啊！難道我們沒有奉你的名講道，奉你的名趕鬼，奉你的名行過許多神蹟嗎？’

“人子啊！你要說預言攻擊那些在以色列中說預言的先知，對那些隨著自己心意說預言的人說：‘你們要聽耶和華的話。’”

巴蘭舉目，看見以色列人按著支派居住，神的靈就臨到他身上。

他曾經因著自己的過犯受了責備：不能說話的驢，竟用人的聲音說出話來，制止了這先知的狂妄。

有人從那裡經過，看見屍體被丟在路上，獅子站在屍體旁邊，就來到老先知所住的城裡，述說這事。
