On the fifteenth day of the eighth month, a month of his own choosing, he offered sacrifices on the altar he had built at Bethel. So he instituted the festival for the Israelites and went up to the altar to make offerings.

He offered sacrifices on the altar he had built at Bethel. It was on the 15th day of the eighth month. That’s the month he had chosen for it. So he established the feast for the Israelites. And he went up to the altar to sacrifice offerings.

He went up to the altar that he had made in Bethel on the fifteenth day in the eighth month, in the month that he had devised from his own heart. And he instituted a feast for the people of Israel and went up to the altar to make offerings.

So on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, a day that he himself had designated, Jeroboam offered sacrifices on the altar at Bethel. He instituted a religious festival for Israel, and he went up to the altar to burn incense.

So he made offerings on the altar which he had made at Bethel on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, in the month which he had devised in his own heart. And he ordained a feast for the children of Israel, and offered sacrifices on the altar and burned incense.

And he went up unto the altar which he had made in Beth- el on the fifteenth day in the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart: and he ordained a feast for the children of Israel, and went up unto the altar, to burn incense.

So he offered upon the altar which he had made in Bethel the fifteenth day of the eighth month,[ even] in the month which he had devised of his own heart; and ordained a feast unto the children of Israel: and he offered upon the altar, and burnt incense.

On the fifteenth day of the eighth month( a date he had arbitrarily chosen) Jeroboam offered sacrifices on the altar he had made in Bethel. He inaugurated a festival for the Israelites and went up to the altar to offer sacrifices.

He went up to the altar which he had made in Bethel on the fifteenth day in the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart; and he ordained a feast for the children of Israel, and went up to the altar, to burn incense.

那時有一個神人憑着永恆主的話從猶大來到伯特利；耶羅波安正站在祭壇旁要燻祭；

這要做你們的繸飾物，好叫你們一看見、就記得永恆主的一切命令、而去遵行，不隨着自己的心意和眼目亂跑、就是你們素常所隨着跑、而變節服事別的神的；

主說：『這人民既只是口頭上親近我，嘴脣上尊敬我，心卻遠離着我；他們之敬畏我、不過是死記着人所吩咐的罷了；

故此我心裏說：「非利士人這就會下吉甲來攻打我了，我又還沒求求永恆主的情面呢」，因此我便勉強把燔祭獻上了。』

這樣他們就因所作的而蒙不潔，也以惡行為而變節事奉別的神了。

這就藉着你們所傳授的、你們的傳統規矩、以取消上帝的話了！你們還作了許多這樣相類的事呢。」

這麼一說，他便可以不必敬奉父親或母親！那就是你們竟因了你們的傳統規矩而取消上帝的話了！

他出去攻打非利士人，將迦特的城牆、雅比尼的城牆、和亞實突的城牆都拆了破口；又在亞實突境內、非利士人中間建造了幾座城。
