我所揀選的禁食不是這樣嗎？不是要鬆開兇惡的鎖鍊，解開軛上的繩索，使被壓迫的獲得自由，折斷所有的軛嗎？

“人子啊！至於你，雖然荊棘和蒺藜在你周圍，你又住在蠍子群中，你不要怕他們，也不要怕他們講的話。他們原是叛逆的民族，你總不要怕他們講的話，在他們面前，也不要驚惶。

於是，埃及人嚴嚴地使以色列人作苦工。埃及人使他們因作苦工而覺得命苦，他們要和泥、做磚、作田間各樣的工；這一切苦工，埃及人都嚴嚴地驅使以色列人去作。

於是亞撒對先見發怒，把他囚在監裡，因為亞撒為了這事很惱怒他。同時亞撒也壓迫人民。

到時，你們必因你們為自己揀選的王而哀求，那時耶和華卻不應允你們。”

法老又說：“你看，現在這地的民很多，你們竟叫他們歇下擔子？”就在那天，法老吩咐眾民的督工和首領說：“你們不要像往日一樣再把草給人民做磚，叫他們自己去撿草。他們往日做磚的數量，你們還是向他們要，一點也不可減少，因為他們是懶惰的，所以他們才呼喊說：‘讓我們去獻祭給我們的神。’你們要把更重的工作加在這些人的身上，好使他們專心作工，不聽謊言。”

但哪一國肯把頸項放在巴比倫王的軛下，服事他，我就必使那國仍留在本土，可以在那裡耕種和居住。’”這是耶和華的宣告。

卻照著年輕人給他所出的主意，對他們說：“我父親加重你們所負的重擔，我要使你們負更重的重擔；我父親用鞭子責打你們，我要用蠍子鞭責打你們。”

有蝗蟲從煙裡出來到了地上；有能力賜給牠們，好像地上蠍子的能力一樣。有話吩咐牠們，不可傷害地上的草，和所有青翠的東西，以及所有的樹木，只可傷害那些額上沒有神印記的人。蝗蟲沒有能力殺死他們，只可使他們受痛苦五個月。他們的痛苦就像人給蠍子螫了的痛苦一樣。在那些日子，人要求死，卻決不得死；切願要死，死卻遠離他們。蝗蟲的形象，好像是預備好了要上陣的戰馬一樣。牠們頭上戴的好像金冠冕，臉像人的面孔，牠們的頭髮好像女人的頭髮，牙齒好像獅子的牙齒；牠們的胸甲像鐵甲，牠們翅膀的聲音好像許多馬車奔馳上陣的聲音。牠們好像蠍子一樣有尾巴和毒刺，牠們的尾巴能傷害人五個月。

現在你們去作工吧；草是不給你們的，磚卻要如數交上。”

“你去告訴哈拿尼雅說：‘耶和華這樣說：你折斷了木軛，卻要換來鐵軛。因為萬軍之耶和華以色列的神這樣說：我要把鐵軛套在這些國家的頸項上，使他們服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒；他們要服事他，連田野的走獸，我也交給他了。’”
