I will take the kingdom from the hand of his son and give ten tribes to you.

我必从他儿子的手里将国夺回，以十个支派赐给你，

我必从他儿子手里将王国夺走，赐给你十个支派，

我必从他儿子手里将王国夺走，赐给你十个支派，

我必从他儿子手中把国夺走，将十个支派赐给你，

我要从他儿子的手中把国夺去，赐给你十个支派。

我必從他兒子的手裏將國奪回，以十個支派賜給你，

我必從他兒子手裏將王國奪走，賜給你十個支派，

我乃是要從他兒子手裏將王位取回，將十個族派賜給你，

惟必奪國於其子手、以十支派予爾、

必奪國於其子手、賜十支派於爾、

I will take the kingdom from his son’s hands and give you ten tribes.

I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hands. And I will give you ten of the tribes.

But I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand and will give it to you, ten tribes.

But I will take the kingdom away from his son and give ten of the tribes to you.

I will take ten tribes of the kingdom from his son and give them to you.

The king refused to listen to the people, because the LORD was instigating this turn of events so that he might bring to pass the prophetic announcement he had made through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat.When all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, the people answered the king,“ We have no portion in David, no share in the son of Jesse! Return to your homes, O Israel! Now, look after your own dynasty, O David!” So Israel returned to their homes.( Rehoboam continued to rule over the Israelites who lived in the cities of Judah.)

However, for your father David’s sake I will not do this while you are alive. I will tear it away from your son’s hand instead.

When all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, they summoned him to the assembly and made him king over all Israel. No one except the tribe of Judah remained loyal to the Davidic dynasty.

The king refused to listen to the people, because God was instigating this turn of events so that he might bring to pass the prophetic announcement he had made through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat.When all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, the people answered the king,“ We have no portion in David– no share in the son of Jesse! You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I, the LORD, your God, am a jealous God, responding to the transgression of fathers by dealing with children to the third and fourth generations of those who reject me,and showing covenant faithfulness to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
