Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the Lord’s command.

He had commanded Solomon not to worship other gods. But Solomon didn’t obey the Lord.

“论到你所建的这殿，你若遵行我的律例，谨守我的典章，遵从我的一切诫命，行在其中，我必向你应验我所应许你父亲大卫的话。我必住在以色列人中间，并不丢弃我的百姓以色列。”

你若以纯正的心和正直行在我面前，效法你父大卫所行的，遵行我一切所吩咐你的，谨守我的律例典章，我就必坚固你在以色列国度的王位，直到永远，正如我应许你父大卫说：‘你的子孙必不断有人坐以色列的王位。’倘若你们和你们的子孙转去不跟从我，不守我摆在你们面前的诫命律例，去事奉别神，敬拜它们，我就必把以色列从我赐给他们的地上剪除，也必从我面前舍弃那为我名所分别为圣的殿，使以色列在万民中成为笑柄，被人讥诮。
