约拿单和亚希玛斯在隐‧罗结等候，不敢进城，恐怕被人看见。有一个婢女出来，把这话告诉他们，他们就去报信给大卫王。

押沙龙在耶路撒冷请了二百人与他同去，都是诚心诚意去的，一点也不知道实情。押沙龙献祭的时候，派人去把大卫的谋士，基罗人亚希多弗从他本城基罗请来。于是叛乱越发强大，因为随从押沙龙的百姓日渐增多。

这地界是从亚割谷往北上到底璧，直向亚都冥斜坡对面的吉甲，就是河的南边，这地界再经过隐‧示麦泉，直通到隐‧罗结。

恶人献祭，为耶和华所憎恶；正直人祈祷，为他所喜悦。

过了二年，有人在靠近以法莲的巴力‧夏琐为押沙龙剪羊毛。押沙龙请了王所有的儿子来。押沙龙来到王那里，说：“看哪，有人正为你的仆人剪羊毛，请王和王的臣仆与你的仆人同去。”王对押沙龙说：“不，我儿，我们不必都去，免得成了你的负担。”押沙龙再三请王，王仍是不肯去，只为他祝福。押沙龙说：“王若不去，请让我哥哥暗嫩与我们同去。”王对他说：“为何要他与你同去呢？”押沙龙再三求王，王就派暗嫩和王所有的儿子与他同去。
