所羅門王曰、母為亞多尼雅求予以書念女亞庇煞、果何故歟。彼為我兄、盍求國祚歸之、彼有祭司亞庇亞塔、及西魯雅子約押以為輔翼。

大闢曰、先擊耶布士人者、可為軍長、西魯雅子約押先往、而為軍長。

亞希突孫、亞希米勒子亞庇亞塔遁、往從大闢、以掃羅殺耶和華祭司之事告。大闢曰、當日我見以東人多益在側、我知其必告掃羅。今害爾父全家者、實緣於我。有欲害爾命者、亦欲害我命、爾與我偕、可保無虞、爾毋畏焉。

列王立、群伯集、耶和華是違、受膏者是逆、曰、

約押為以色列軍長、耶何耶大之子庇拿雅統轄劊役皂隸、

王告祭司亞庇亞塔曰、昔爾舁耶和華上帝之匱、在我父大闢前、恆與我父同憂、今雖當死、我不於此時殺爾、盍歸故土亞拿突。遂驅亞庇亞塔、不使為耶和華之祭司。於是耶和華在示羅、論以利家之言應矣。昔約押不從押沙龍、後從亞多尼雅、今聞王所為、則遁於耶和華會幕、而執壇角。或以此事告所羅門、所羅門遣耶何耶大子庇拿雅擊之。庇拿雅至耶和華會幕、告約押曰、王使爾出。曰、否、我必死於此、庇拿雅以約押言反告於王。王曰、可如其言而行、擊而葬之、於是約押流無辜之血、其罪不歸於我、亦不歸我父之家。彼刃擊二人、較己尤善、即以色列族軍長尼耳子押尼耳、猶大族軍長益帖子亞馬撒、我父大闢不之知也、今耶和華必以是罪歸之。此罪必永歸約押、及其苗裔、惟耶和華必賜平康於大闢眷聚、爰其苗裔、至於國家永世靡暨。耶何耶大子庇拿雅遂往擊約押、殺之、葬於私宅、地鄰曠野。王使耶何耶大子庇拿雅代約押為軍長、使祭司撒督代亞庇亞塔。

西魯雅子約押為軍長、亞希律子約沙法為史官。

亞希多弗、其祿人也、嘗為大闢議士、斯時獻祭於其祿、押沙龍召之與謀、於是叛黨日強、從者愈眾。
