哈曼进来后，王问他：“王愿意赏识一个人，该怎么做呢？”哈曼心想：“王愿意赏识的人不是我是谁呢？”于是，他就对王说：“王若愿意赏识一个人，可以拿来王穿过的袍子，牵来王骑过的戴冠的御马，交给王最尊贵的一位大臣，给王所愿意赏识的人穿上，让他骑着马在城中的广场上游行，并派人在他前面宣告，‘王愿意赏识谁，就会这样待他。’”王对哈曼说：“快去照你说的，把王袍和御马赐给在宫门供职的犹太人末底改。你所说的一样也不可少。”于是，哈曼将袍子给末底改穿上，让他骑着马在城中的广场上游行，并在他前面宣告：“王愿意赏识谁，就会这样待他。”

王派撒督祭司、拿单先知、耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅，以及基利提人和比利提人护送所罗门骑上王的骡子。撒督祭司和拿单先知在基训膏立他为王，他们一路上欢呼着回来了，全城轰动。你们听到的就是他们的声音。

那时，哈姬的儿子亚多尼雅妄自尊大，说：“我必做王。”他为自己制备了车辆和骑兵，派五十人在前面开路。

大卫对亚比筛说：“现在比基利的儿子示巴对我们带来的危害恐怕比押沙龙还要大。你带领我的部下去捉拿他，免得他占据了坚固的城池，得以逃脱。”于是，约押的部下和基利提人、比利提人以及所有的勇士都跟随亚比筛离开耶路撒冷，去追赶比基利的儿子示巴。

让他坐在自己的第二辆御车上，并有人在御车前高呼：“跪下！”这样，法老派约瑟治理整个埃及。
