大闢既薨、與祖父同葬於大闢邑。

謂摩西曰、爾必返本、斯民既詣斯土、必遺棄我、背我所立之約、狥己私欲、從異邦人之上帝。

爾逝世之期既至、得與祖父同墓、我將以爾所出之苗裔、使繼爾位、鞏固其國、

爾必享遐齡、安然返本、而葬焉。

所羅門王曰、母為亞多尼雅求予以書念女亞庇煞、果何故歟。彼為我兄、盍求國祚歸之、彼有祭司亞庇亞塔、及西魯雅子約押以為輔翼。遂指耶和華而誓、曰、因亞多尼雅言此、必喪其命、不然願上帝罰我。耶和華既踐其前言、使我繼父大闢之位、以國祚賜我、我指之而誓、亞多尼雅見戮、必於今日。

曰、國祚屬我、向者以色列族歸心於我、使我即位、乃爾所知。然耶和華反以國祚錫我兄弟。
