今以色列人眾之目、皆仰望我主我王、待王曉諭我主我王之後、誰坐王位、

My lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are on you, to learn from you who will sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.

You are my king and master. All the Israelites are watching to see what you will do. They want to find out from you who will sit on the throne after you.

“耶和华的灵借着我说话，祂的言语在我口中。

我常常仰望耶和华，因为唯有祂能救我脱离网罗。

我们的上帝啊，难道你不惩罚他们吗？面对前来攻击的大军，我们无力抵挡，不知道该怎么办，我们只有仰望你。”

大卫王又对全体会众说：“我儿所罗门是上帝特别拣选的，但他还年轻，缺乏经验。建殿的工程浩大，因为这殿不是为人造的，乃是为耶和华上帝造的。

我们要仰望我们的上帝耶和华，如同仆人仰望主人、婢女仰望主母，一直到蒙祂怜悯。

但耶和华对我说，‘你杀了许多人，打了很多仗，在我眼前使许多人血洒大地，因此你不可为我的名建造殿宇。你将生一个儿子，我必使他安享太平，不受四围的仇敌侵扰。他的名字要叫所罗门，他执政期间，我必使以色列太平安宁。他将为我的名建造殿宇，他要做我的儿子，我要做他的父亲，我要使他的王朝在以色列永远长存。’
