Since we believe human testimony, surely we can believe the greater testimony that comes from God. And God has testified about his Son.

We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son.

We accept what people say when they are witnesses. But it’s more important when God is a witness. That’s because it is what God says about his Son.

If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son.

Your own law says that if two people agree about something, their witness is accepted as fact.I am one witness, and my Father who sent me is the other.”“ Where is your father?” they asked. Jesus answered,“ Since you don’t know who I am, you don’t know who my Father is. If you knew me, you would also know my Father.”

So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.

But even as he spoke, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy. Listen to him.”
