Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.

Dear children, keep away from statues of gods.

Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.

Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry. (niv)

Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written:“ The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.” (niv)

What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:“ I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”Therefore,“ Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” (niv)

Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. (niv)

for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, (niv)

“ You shall have no other gods before me.“ You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. (niv)

The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood— idols that cannot see or hear or walk. (niv)
