元始生命之道、余耳聞之、目擊之、手捫之、

太初所有生命之道、道或作言下同我儕所聞、親目所睹、我儕所觀、親手所捫者、

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched— this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.

Here is what we announce to everyone about the Word of life. The Word was already here from the beginning. We have heard him. We have seen him with our eyes. We have looked at him. Our hands have touched him.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—

We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.

This is what we proclaim to you: what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and our hands have touched( concerning the word of life–

繼謂多默曰：『親指探斯穴、親視吾手、親撫吾肋孔！應具信德、莫為狐疑之徒！』

且吾人亦知聖父曾遣其聖子為救世主、此則吾人所親睹而可作證者也。

一視吾手吾足、便知是我；捫也！視也！神無骨肉、爾見我實有之。』

蓋吾儕所宣揚吾主耶穌基督之神德及其重臨、非據玄思妙構之稗乘、乃憑親炙目睹之威靈也。方其受天主聖父之尊榮也、有音發自赫赫天君、臨於其身曰：『斯吾愛子、慰悅吾心。』此音乃吾儕與彼同遊聖山時、親耳所聞、發自天上者也。

我見之、即殭仆其足前、渠以右手撫我曰：「毋懼、予乃無始之始、無終之終；永生不變；死於一時、而生於永古；掌握死亡及地獄之管籥者。

爾其寓書於斯米爾納教會之守護天神曰：彼無始之始、無終之終、死而復活者、有所曉諭於爾：

蓋自其受難以後、其復活之證、不一而足、現形於其徒者凡四十日、為之闡述天主之國。

身披濺血之袍人稱之曰『天主之道。』

天上三證、曰父、曰道、曰神；三者一體。

父老乎吾致書於爾、蓋爾已識元始永生之主矣。小子乎、吾報爾嘉音、蓋爾已識天父矣。父老乎、吾報爾嘉音、蓋爾已與元始永生之主相識矣。

「將爾所見、筆之於書、以寄依弗所、斯米爾納、伯爾加莫、第亞底拉、撒爾底、斐拉代爾非、樂底嘉七教會。」

為斯證者、乃一目擊其事之人、其證真實、渠自知己之所言不妄、俾爾等信之。
