Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch— as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

Now the passage of scripture the man was reading was this:“ He was led like a sheep to slaughter, and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth.In humiliation justice was taken from him. Who can describe his posterity? For his life was taken away from the earth.”Then the eunuch said to Philip,“ Please tell me, who is the prophet saying this about– himself or someone else?”So Philip started speaking, and beginning with this scripture proclaimed the good news about Jesus to him.

Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all share the one bread.

Your lamb must be perfect, a male, one year old; you may take it from the sheep or from the goats.You must care for it until the fourteenth day of this month, and then the whole community of Israel will kill it around sundown.

For seven days you must eat bread made without yeast, and on the seventh day there is to be a festival to the LORD.Bread made without yeast must be eaten for seven days; no bread made with yeast shall be seen among you, and you must have no yeast among you within any of your borders.

Now on the first day of the feast of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb is sacrificed, Jesus’ disciples said to him,“ Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?”

On the next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said,“ Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Gazing at Jesus as he walked by, he said,“ Look, the Lamb of God!”

He was treated harshly and afflicted, but he did not even open his mouth. Like a lamb led to the slaughtering block, like a sheep silent before her shearers, he did not even open his mouth.He was led away after an unjust trial– but who even cared? Indeed, he was cut off from the land of the living; because of the rebellion of his own people he was wounded.They intended to bury him with criminals, but he ended up in a rich man’s tomb, because he had committed no violent deeds, nor had he spoken deceitfully.Though the LORD desired to crush him and make him ill, once restitution is made, he will see descendants and enjoy long life, and the LORD’s purpose will be accomplished through him.

So put to deat h whatever in your nature belongs to the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, shameful passion, evil desire, and greed which is idolatry.Because of these things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience.You also lived your lives in this way at one time, when you used to live among them.But now, put off all such things as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth.Do not lie to one another since you have put off the old man with its practices

But God will judge those outside. Remove the evil person from among you.

all of whom were singing in a loud voice:“ Worthy is the lamb who was killed to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and praise!”

( Now it was the day of preparation for the Passover, about noon.) Pilate said to the Jewish leaders,“ Look, here is your king!”

For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received– that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures,and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures,

Then I saw standing in the middle of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the middle of the elders, a Lamb that appeared to have been killed. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.Then he came and took the scroll from the right hand of the one who was seated on the throne,and when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty- four elders threw themselves to the ground before the Lamb. Each of them had a harp and golden bowls full of incense( which are the prayers of the saints).They were singing a new song:“ You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals because you were killed, and at the cost of your own blood you have purchased for God persons from every tribe, language, people, and nation.

For seven days you must eat bread made without yeast. Surely on the first day you must put away yeast from your houses because anyone who eats bread made with yeast from the first day to the seventh day will be cut off from Israel.
