May the Lord grant that he will find mercy from the Lord on that day! You know very well in how many ways he helped me in Ephesus.

He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.

Rain will come in torrents, and I will send hailstones hurtling down, and violent winds will burst forth.When the wall collapses, will people not ask you,“ Where is the whitewash you covered it with?”“‘ Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: In my wrath I will unleash a violent wind, and in my anger hailstones and torrents of rain will fall with destructive fury.I will tear down the wall you have covered with whitewash and will level it to the ground so that its foundation will be laid bare. When it falls, you will be destroyed in it; and you will know that I am the Lord.So I will pour out my wrath against the wall and against those who covered it with whitewash. I will say to you,“ The wall is gone and so are those who whitewashed it,those prophets of Israel who prophesied to Jerusalem and saw visions of peace for her when there was no peace, declares the Sovereign Lord.”’

so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.”

I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line; hail will sweep away your refuge, the lie, and water will overflow your hiding place.

But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

“ Is not my word like fire,” declares the Lord,“ and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?

Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.

“ On the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty,“ they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him.
