I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling.

On behalf of such a one I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except in my weaknesses.For if I would desire to boast, I will not be foolish; for I will speak the truth. But I refrain, so that no man may think more of me than that which he sees in me or hears from me.By reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted excessively, a thorn in the flesh was given to me: a messenger of Satan to torment me, that I should not be exalted excessively.Concerning this thing, I begged the Lord three times that it might depart from me.He has said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.

Now I Paul, myself, entreat you by the humility and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.

For we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. We also pray for this: your becoming perfect.

When they arrived, they went into the Jewish synagogue.Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.Many of them therefore believed; also of the prominent Greek women, and not a few men.

When they opposed him and blasphemed, he shook out his clothing and said to them,“ Your blood be on your own heads! I am clean. From now on, I will go to the Gentiles!”

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we don’t faint.

Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.

But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves.We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair;pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed;always carrying in the body the putting to death of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus may be revealed in our mortal flesh.So then death works in us, but life in you.

When they had come to him, he said to them,“ You yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, how I was with you all the time,serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears, and with trials which happened to me by the plots of the Jews;

For,“ His letters”, they say,“ are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech is despised.”

We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You have honor, but we have dishonor.Even to this present hour we hunger, thirst, are naked, are beaten, and have no certain dwelling place.We toil, working with our own hands. When people curse us, we bless. Being persecuted, we endure.Being defamed, we entreat. We are made as the filth of the world, the dirt wiped off by all, even until now.

but you know that because of weakness in the flesh I preached the Good News to you the first time.That which was a temptation to you in my flesh, you didn’t despise nor reject; but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.

But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him before the judgment seat,

Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a Jewish synagogue.

After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth.
