Once more Jesus said to them,“ I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I go, you cannot come.”This made the Jews ask,“ Will he kill himself? Is that why he says,‘ Where I go, you cannot come’?”But he continued,“ You are from below; I am from above. Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died— more than that, who was raised to life— is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. (niv)

God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins. (niv)

By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. (niv)

In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence.Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own.Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. “ Son of man, say to the Israelites,‘ This is what you are saying:“ Our offenses and sins weigh us down, and we are wasting away because of them. How then can we live?”’ (niv)
