吾之得有今日、皆賴天主之寵佑；惟予黽勉勞苦、視他人有過無不及、則未辜負天主之寵佑也。雖然、是亦天主寵佑而已、初非予之功也。

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them— yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.But we will not boast of things without[ our] measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.For we stretch not ourselves beyond[ our measure], as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in[ preaching] the gospel of Christ:Not boasting of things without[ our] measure,[ that is], of other men’s labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,To preach the gospel in the[ regions] beyond you,[ and] not to boast in another man’s line of things made ready to our hand.

I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing.

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in[ his] kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:[ it is] the gift of God:

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think[ of himself] more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

We then,[ as] workers together[ with him], beseech[ you] also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.And if by grace, then[ is it] no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if[ it be] of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

For who maketh thee to differ[ from another]? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive[ it], why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received[ it]?

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham,[ of] the tribe of Benjamin.

Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

Are they ministers of Christ?( I speak as a fool) I[ am] more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.Of the Jews five times received I forty[ stripes] save one.Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;[ In] journeyings often,[ in] perils of waters,[ in] perils of robbers,[ in] perils by[ mine own] countrymen,[ in] perils by the heathen,[ in] perils in the city,[ in] perils in the wilderness,[ in] perils in the sea,[ in] perils among false brethren;In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.

This[ is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
