人人應俯就其鄰友、扶掖其後進、以成其善。蓋基督未嘗以悅己為事。經云：『人之詬爾、我則受之。』

爾等以為吾儕但欲自為辨白耳。實則吾儕對越在天、言不離基督、在一切事上、惟欲己達達人、己立立人而已矣。

然苟有可以激發吾之同胞骨肉、而拯救若干人於淪亡者、正吾之所以忠於厥職耳。

凡此猶屬外事、若諸會之事、尤為予所日日挂心者。孰餒而予不為之餒？孰蹶而予不為之焦心如焚？
