不过要当心，免得你们的这权利成了软弱之人的绊跌物。因为，如果有人看见你这有知识的人在偶像的庙里坐席，难道不就鼓励了他软弱的良心，使他也去吃那祭过偶像的食物吗？这样，那软弱的人，就是基督为他而死的那弟兄，就会因你的知识被毁了。当你们这样对弟兄犯罪，打击他们软弱良心的时候，就是对基督犯罪。所以，如果食物使我的弟兄绊倒，我就绝不吃肉直到永远，免得使我的弟兄绊倒。
