不過要當心，免得你們的這權利成了軟弱之人的絆跌物。

任何壞話都不可出口，而是按著需要說造就人的好話，使聽的人得到益處。

因此，你們要彼此鼓勵，互相造就，就像你們現在所做的那樣。

因為你感謝的固然是好，但別人卻沒有得造就。

如果因食物的緣故使你的弟兄憂傷，你就不再是憑著愛行事了。基督已經替他死了，不可因你的食物毀了他。

這樣看來，我們要追求和睦的事和彼此造就的事。不要因食物的緣故破壞神的工作。一切固然都是潔淨的，但如果有人因吃東西使人絆腳，這就是惡事了。

我們堅強的人，應該擔當不堅強人的軟弱，不求自己的喜悅。我們每個人當為了鄰人的益處讓他喜悅，使他得造就。

弟兄們，那麼該怎麼辦呢？你們聚集的時候，各人或有詩歌，或有教導，或有啟示，或有殊言，或有翻譯出來的話語——一切都要為了造就人。

你們一直以為我們是在向你們申辯嗎？我們是在基督裡，在神面前說話。各位蒙愛的人哪，這一切都是為了造就你們。

也不可關注那些編造的故事和無窮的家譜：這些事只帶來疑惑，而無助於神所賜的信仰上的任務。

你們也是這樣：既然你們對屬靈的事是熱心人，就應當追求造就教會的事，好讓你們能豐足有餘。

關於祭過偶像的食物，我們知道「我們都有知識。」知識使人自我膨脹，但是愛能造就人。

可是那做先知傳道的是對人說，為要造就、鼓勵和安慰人。那說殊言的是造就自己，但那做先知傳道的是造就教會。我雖然希望你們都說殊言，但更希望你們都做先知傳道。因為，除非說殊言的能把殊言翻譯出來使教會得到造就，否則那做先知傳道的就比說殊言的更大了。
