Yet to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God,

惟蒙召者、無論猶太人、希拉人、皆以基督為天主之大能、天主之智慧、

而於蒙召之人、無論其國籍之為猶太或希臘、則為天主之德能與神慧也。

but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

But there are those God has chosen, both Jews and Greeks. To them Christ is God’s power and God’s wisdom.

In him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but it is the power of God to us who are being saved.

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified; and those he justified, he also glorified.

God is faithful; you were called by him into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek.

“ The LORD acquired me at the beginning of his creation, before his works of long ago.I was formed before ancient times, from the beginning, before the earth began.I was born when there were no watery depths and no springs filled with water.Before the mountains were established, prior to the hills, I was given birth—before he made the land, the fields, or the first soil on earth.I was there when he established the heavens, when he laid out the horizon on the surface of the ocean,when he placed the skies above, when the fountains of the ocean gushed out,when he set a limit for the sea so that the waters would not violate his command, when he laid out the foundations of the earth.I was a skilled craftsman beside him. I was his delight every day, always rejoicing before him.

and was appointed to be the powerful Son of God according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection of the dead.

Yet wisdom is vindicated by all her children.”

Because of this, the wisdom of God said,‘ I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,’

Doesn’t wisdom call out? Doesn’t understanding make her voice heard?

To the church of God at Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called as saints, with all those in every place who call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord— both their Lord and ours.

on us, the ones he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?
