and Heman’s associate Asaph, who served at his right hand: Asaph son of Berekiah, the son of Shimea,

Heman had a relative named Asaph. Asaph served as Heman’s helper at his right side. Asaph was the son of Berekiah. Berekiah was the son of Shimea.

and his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, namely, Asaph the son of Berechiah, son of Shimea,

Heman’s first assistant was Asaph from the clan of Gershon. Asaph’s genealogy was traced back through Berekiah, Shimea,

Heman’s relative was Asaph, who stood at his right hand: Asaph son of Berechiah, son of Shimea,

Heman’s brother Asaph stood at his right hand, Asaph the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,

Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.

Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

I cried unto God with my voice,[ even] unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.

Then on that day David delivered first[ this psalm] to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.

Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem[ was] Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha. Of the sons of Asaph, the singers[ were] over the business of the house of God.

The mighty God,[ even] the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest[ between] the cherubims, shine forth.

Concerning the divisions of the porters: Of the Korhites[ was] Meshelemiah the son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph.

Truly God[ is] good to Israel,[ even] to such as are of a clean heart.

For in the days of David and Asaph of old[ there were] chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.

And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.

In Judah[ is] God known: his name[ is] great in Israel.

And the singers the sons of Asaph[ were] in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer; and the porters[ waited] at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.

Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks,[ unto thee] do we give thanks: for[ that] thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

Give ear, O my people,[ to] my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;And with them their brethren of the second[ degree], Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, the porters.So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan,[ were appointed] to sound with cymbals of brass;

And[ certain] of the priests’ sons with trumpets;[ namely], Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Michaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph:

Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;

O God, why hast thou cast[ us] off for ever?[ why] doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.

Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.
