前面的走廊長二十肘，與殿的寬度一樣，高一百二十肘；裏面貼上純金。

以色列人出埃及地後四百八十年，所羅門作以色列王第四年西弗月，就是二月，他開工建造耶和華的殿。所羅門王為耶和華所建的殿，長六十肘，寬二十肘，高三十肘。殿的正堂前走廊長二十肘，與殿的寬度一樣，殿前寬十肘；他為殿做了有框嵌壁式的窗戶。靠着殿牆，圍着外殿和內殿的牆，周圍建造了廂房；下層寬五肘，中層寬六肘，第三層寬七肘。他在殿牆的周圍造坎，免得梁木插入殿牆裏。殿是用山中鑿成的石頭建的，所以建殿的時候，鎚子、斧子和別樣鐵器的響聲都沒有聽見。

亞撒利雅祭司率領八十名勇敢的耶和華的祭司，跟隨他進去。他們阻止烏西雅王，對他說：「烏西雅啊，給耶和華燒香不是你的事，而是亞倫子孫的事，他們是分別為聖來燒香的祭司。你出聖殿吧！因為你犯了罪，耶和華上帝必不使你得尊榮。」烏西雅發怒，手拿香爐要燒香。他在耶和華殿中香壇旁向眾祭司發怒的時候，他的額頭在眾祭司面前忽然長出痲瘋。亞撒利雅祭司長和眾祭司轉向他，看哪，他的額頭長出痲瘋，就催他離開那裏；他自己也急速出去，因為耶和華降災於他。
