你们要在荒凉的山上竖立大旗，向他们扬声，挥手招呼他们进入贵族之门。我吩咐我所分别为圣的人，召唤我的勇士，就是我那狂喜高傲的人，为要执行我的怒气。听啊，山间有喧闹的声音，好像有许多百姓聚集，听啊，多国之民聚集闹哄的声音；这是万军之耶和华召集作战的军队。他们从远方来，从天边来，耶和华和他恼恨的兵器要毁灭全地。

耶和华的怒气又向以色列发作，激起大卫来对付他们，说：“去，数点以色列人和犹大人。”

我祖先所毁灭的，就是歌散、哈兰、利色和提‧拉撒的伊甸人；这些国的神明何曾拯救他们呢？

亚哈斯派使者到亚述王提革拉‧毗列色那里，说：“我是你的仆人，你的儿子。现在亚兰王和以色列王攻击我，求你上来，救我脱离他们的手。”

祸哉！亚述，我怒气的棍！他们手中的杖是我的恼恨。我要差遣他攻击亵渎的国，吩咐他对付我所恼怒的民，抢走掳物，夺取掠物，将他们践踏，如同街上的泥土一般。

于是，犹大和便雅悯的族长、祭司、利未人，凡是心被上帝感动的人都起来，要上耶路撒冷去建造耶和华的殿。

所以耶和华使亚述王的将领来攻击他们，用手铐铐住玛拿西，用铜链锁住他，把他带到巴比伦去。
