耶羅波安卻使伏兵從猶大人後頭而來；這樣，以色列人竟在猶大人前面，而伏兵又在猶大人後頭。猶大人一轉臉，見前後都得交戰，就向永恆主哀叫，祭司們也吹號筒。於是猶大人吶喊；猶大人吶喊的時候，上帝就把耶羅波安和以色列眾人擊敗在亞比雅和猶大人面前了。

撒母耳將一塊石頭安放在米斯巴與耶沙拿之間，給石頭起名叫以便以謝，說：『這是永恆主幫助我們的證據。』

上帝是我們的避難所、我們的力量、我們患難中的幫助、隨時隨地可得到的。

要使我們這首先寄望於基督的人讓他的榮耀得稱讚。
