Jabez called out to the God of Israel,“ If only you would greatly bless me and expand my territory! May your hand be with me! Keep me from harm so I might not endure pain!” God answered his prayer.

雅比斯籲以色列之上帝曰、願爾錫我福祉、擴我土宇、扶我以手、俾免遭難遇苦、上帝允其所祈、

雅必禱以色列族之上帝、曰、願爾錫嘏於我、恢擴四境、眷祐乎我、免遭患難、毫無所憂。上帝允其所祈。

雅比斯禱以色列之天主曰、求主賜福於我、廣我境土、常眷祐我、免我遭患難、有愁苦、天主允其所求、

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel,“ Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel. He said,“ I wish you would bless me. I wish you would give me more territory. Let your power protect me. Keep me from harm. Then I won’t have any pain.” God gave him what he asked for.

Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying,“ Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked.

He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel,“ Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.

Jabez called out to the God of Israel,“ If only you would bless me, extend my border, let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm, so that I will not experience pain.” And God granted his request.

Now Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying,“ Oh that You would greatly bless me and extend my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from harm so that it would not hurt me!” And God brought about what he requested.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying,“ Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that thy hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it be not to my sorrow! And God granted him that which he requested.

Jabez called out to the God of Israel:“ If only You would bless me, extend my border, let Your hand be with me, and keep me from harm, so that I will not cause any pain.” And God granted his request.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep[ me] from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying,“ Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border! May your hand be with me, and may you keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” God granted him that which he requested.

“ Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.Is there anyone among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?If you then, although you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

I love the LORD because he heard my plea for mercy,and listened to me. As long as I live, I will call to him when I need help.The ropes of death tightened around me, the snares of Sheol confronted me. I was confronted with trouble and sorrow.I called on the name of the LORD,“ Please LORD, rescue my life!”

The blessing from the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow to it.

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; no one will snatch them from my hand.

‘ Call on me in prayer and I will answer you. I will show you great and mysterious things which you still do not know about.’

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you! Don’t be frightened, for I am your God! I strengthen you– yes, I help you– yes, I uphold you with my saving right hand!

The Lord will deliver me from every evil deed and will bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever! Amen.

May your hand help me, for I choose to obey your precepts.

However, God heard; he listened to my prayer.God deserves praise, for he did not reject my prayer or abandon his love for me!

Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ.

Now to him who by the power that is working within us is able to do far beyond all that we ask or think,

He asked you to sustain his life, and you have granted him long life and an enduring dynasty.

The oppressed and the poor look for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched from thirst. I, the LORD, will respond to their prayers; I, the God of Israel, will not abandon them.

As for me, I will call out to God, and the LORD will deliver me.

For there is no distinction between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all, who richly blesses all who call on him.For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.How are they to call on one they have not believed in? And how are they to believe in one they have not heard of? And how are they to hear without someone preaching to them?

There he set up an altar and called it“ The God of Israel is God.”

The descendants of Joseph said to Joshua,“ Why have you assigned us only one tribal allotment? After all, we have many people, for until now the LORD has enabled us to increase in number.”Joshua replied to them,“ Since you have so many people, go up into the forest and clear out a place to live in the land of the Perizzites and Rephaites, for the hill country of Ephraim is too small for you.”The descendants of Joseph said,“ The whole hill country is inadequate for us, and the Canaanites living down in the valley in Beth Shean and its surrounding towns and in the Valley of Jezreel have chariots with iron-rimmed wheels.”Joshua said to the family of Joseph– to both Ephraim and Manasseh:“ You have many people and great military strength. You will not have just one tribal allotment.The whole hill country will be yours; though it is a forest, you can clear it and it will be entirely yours. You can conquer the Canaanites, though they have chariots with iron-rimmed wheels and are strong.”

Now, O LORD my God, you have made your servant king in my father David’s place, even though I am only a young man and am inexperienced.Your servant stands among your chosen people; they are a great nation that is too numerous to count or number.So give your servant a discerning mind so he can make judicial decisions for your people and distinguish right from wrong. Otherwise no one is able to make judicial decisions for this great nation of yours.”The Lord was pleased that Solomon made this request.God said to him,“ Because you asked for the ability to make wise judicial decisions, and not for long life, or riches, or vengeance on your enemies,I grant your request, and give you a wise and discerning mind superior to that of anyone who has preceded or will succeed you.Furthermore, I am giving you what you did not request– riches and honor so that you will be the greatest king of your generation.

the Angel who has protected me from all harm– bless these boys. May my name be named in them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac. May they grow into a multitude on the earth.”

Grant me the ultimate joy of being forgiven! May the bones you crushed rejoice!

Moses and Aaron were among his priests; Samuel was one of those who prayed to him. They prayed to the LORD and he answered them.

Then I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great, so that you will exemplify divine blessing.

You hear prayers; all people approach you.

Then the man said,“ Let me go, for the dawn is breaking.”“ I will not let you go,” Jacob replied,“ unless you bless me.”

Then he moved from there to the hill country east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the LORD and worshiped the LORD.

You will pray to him and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows to him.Whatever you decide on a matter, it will be established for you, and light will shine on your ways.

“ No longer will your name be Jacob,” the man told him,“ but Israel, because you have fought with God and with men and have prevailed.”

May his fame endure! May his dynasty last as long as the sun remains in the sky! May they use his name when they formulate their blessings! May all nations consider him to be favored by God!

Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said:“ Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.

When I refused to confess my sin, my whole body wasted away, while I groaned in pain all day long.For day and night you tormented me; you tried to destroy me in the intense heat of summer.( Selah)

Give thanks to the LORD! Call on his name! Make known his accomplishments among the nations!

All those I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent!

The men of Manasseh did not conquer Beth Shan, Taanach, or their surrounding towns. Nor did they conquer the people living in Dor, Ibleam, Megiddo or their surrounding towns. The Canaanites managed to remain in those areas.Whenever Israel was strong militarily, they forced the Canaanites to do hard labor, but they never totally conquered them.The men of Ephraim did not conquer the Canaanites living in Gezer. The Canaanites lived among them in Gezer.The men of Zebulun did not conquer the people living in Kitron and Nahalol. The Canaanites lived among them and were forced to do hard labor.The men of Asher did not conquer the people living in Acco or Sidon, nor did they conquer Ahlab, Aczib, Helbah, Aphek, or Rehob.The people of Asher live among the Canaanites residing in the land because they did not conquer them.The men of Naphtali did not conquer the people living in Beth Shemesh or Beth Anath. They live among the Canaanites residing in the land. The Canaanites living in Beth Shemesh and Beth Anath were forced to do hard labor for them.The Amorites forced the people of Dan to live in the hill country. They did not allow them to live in the coastal plain.The Amorites managed to remain in Har Heres, Aijalon, and Shaalbim. Whenever the tribe of Joseph was strong militarily, the Amorites were forced to do hard labor.The border of Amorite territory ran from the Scorpion Ascent to Sela and on up.

Let me again experience the joy of your deliverance! Sustain me by giving me the desire to obey!

saying,“ If you had only known on this day, even you, the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.

Eli replied,“ Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant the request that you have asked of him.”

Remove falsehood and lies far from me; do not give me poverty or riches, feed me with my allotted portion of bread,

I am a laughingstock to my friends, I, who called on God and whom he answered– a righteous and blameless man is a laughingstock!

And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

God raised up his servant and sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each one of you from your iniquities.”

Your obedience is known to all and thus I rejoice over you. But I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil.

Jesus said a third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that Jesus asked him a third time,“ Do you love me?” and said,“ Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus replied,“ Feed my sheep.

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good.

So I made up my own mind not to pay you another painful visit.For if I make you sad, who would be left to make me glad but the one I caused to be sad?And I wrote this very thing to you, so that when I came I would not have sadness from those who ought to make me rejoice, since I am confident in you all that my joy would be yours.For out of great distress and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears, not to make you sad, but to let you know the love that I have especially for you.But if anyone has caused sadness, he has not saddened me alone, but to some extent( not to exaggerate) he has saddened all of you as well.This punishment on such an individual by the majority is enough for him,so that now instead you should rather forgive and comfort him. This will keep him from being overwhelmed by excessive grief to the point of despair.
