大卫的儿子押沙龙有一个美丽的妹妹，名叫她玛。大卫的另一个儿子暗嫩爱上了她。

他部下的家眷和他的两位妻子——耶斯列人亚希暖和拿八的遗孀迦密人亚比该也跟他一同住在迦特王亚吉那里。

押沙龙的仆人就照命令把暗嫩杀了。王的众子都起来骑上骡子逃走了。
