猶大的兒子是珥、俄南、示拉，這三人是迦南人書亞女兒所生的。猶大的長子珥在耶和華眼中看為惡，耶和華就使他死了。猶大的兒婦她瑪給猶大生法勒斯和謝拉。猶大共有五個兒子。法勒斯的兒子是希斯崙、哈母勒。謝拉的兒子是心利、以探、希幔、甲各、大拉，共五人。迦米的兒子是亞干，這亞干在當滅的物上犯了罪，連累了以色列人。以探的兒子是亞撒利雅。希斯崙所生的兒子是耶拉篾、蘭、基路拜。

現在不要像你們列祖硬着頸項，只要歸順耶和華，進入他的聖所，就是永遠成聖的居所；又要事奉耶和華－你們的神，好使他的烈怒轉離你們。

他輕看誓言，背棄盟約，已經投降，卻又做這一切的事，他必不能逃脫。」

亞伯拉罕對管理他全業最老的僕人說：「請你把手放在我大腿底下。

耶和華堅立我，使我坐在父親大衛的位上，照着所應許的話為我建立家室；現在我指着永生的耶和華起誓，亞多尼雅今日必被治死。」於是所羅門王差遣耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，將亞多尼雅殺死。

大衛又吩咐以色列的眾首領幫助他兒子所羅門，說：
