And of all my sons,( for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.

主賜我多子、在我眾子中、選我子所羅門坐主之國位、以治以色列人、

Of all my sons— and the Lord has given me many— he has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.

The Lord has given me many sons. From all of them he has chosen my son Solomon. He wants Solomon to sit on the throne of the Lord’ s kingdom. He wants him to rule over Israel.

And of all my sons( for the Lord has given me many sons) he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.

And from among my sons— for the Lord has given me many— he chose Solomon to succeed me on the throne of Israel and to rule over the Lord’s kingdom.

And out of all my sons— for the LORD has given me many sons— he has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the LORD’s kingdom over Israel.

Of all my sons( for the Lord has given me many sons), He has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.

Now these were the sons of David, which were born unto him in Hebron; the firstborn Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; the second Daniel, of Abigail the Carmelitess:The third, Absalom the son of Maachah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur: the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith:The fifth, Shephatiah of Abital: the sixth, Ithream by Eglah his wife.[ These] six were born unto him in Hebron; and there he reigned seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years.And these were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, four, of Bathshua the daughter of Ammiel:Ibhar also, and Elishama, and Eliphelet,And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet, nine.[ These were] all the sons of David, beside the sons of the concubines, and Tamar their sister.

So when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.

Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I[ will be] his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.

Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king’s son.He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers[ that] water the earth.In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and[ him] that hath no helper.He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually;[ and] daily shall he be praised.There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and[ they] of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and[ men] shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.Blessed[ be] the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.And blessed[ be] his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled[ with] his glory; Amen, and Amen.The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.Of the increase of[ his] government and peace[ there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

Furthermore David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen,[ is yet] young and tender, and the work[ is] great: for the palace[ is] not for man, but for the LORD God.

And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.Now these[ are] the names of[ his] children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.
