大卫王站起来说：“我的弟兄，我的人民啊，请听我说。我本想建造一座殿宇安放耶和华的约柜，作我们上帝的脚凳，我已准备好建造的材料。

大卫王就站起来，说：“我的弟兄，我的百姓啊，你们当听我言，我心里本想建造殿宇，安放耶和华的约柜，作为我神的脚凳；我已经预备建造的材料。

大卫王站起来，说：“我的弟兄，我的百姓啊，请听我说！我心里本想建造殿宇，安放耶和华的约柜，作为我们上帝的脚凳，并且我已经预备了建造的材料。

大衛王立而言曰、我昆弟、我民歟、其聽我言、我有意建室、安置耶和華之約匱、而為我上帝之足几、已備具以待建造、

大闢王立、而告民曰、爾為我民、亦我兄弟、宜聽我言、我素志欲建殿宇、置我上帝耶和華法匱、及駐蹕之所、我曾備材、以待經營。

大衛王起立曰、我兄弟、我民歟、宜聽我言、我意欲建殿宇、安置主之約匱、為我天主駐蹕駐蹕原文作足蹬之所、我已備材以待建造、

King David rose to his feet and said:“ Listen to me, my fellow Israelites, my people. I had it in my heart to build a house as a place of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, for the footstool of our God, and I made plans to build it.

King David stood up. He said,“ All of you Israelites, listen to me. With all my heart I wanted to build a house for the Lord. I wanted it to be a place of peace and rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord. The ark is the stool for our God’s feet. I made plans to build the Lord’ s house.

Then King David rose to his feet and said:“ Hear me, my brothers and my people. I had it in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for the footstool of our God, and I made preparations for building.

David rose to his feet and said:“ My brothers and my people! It was my desire to build a Temple where the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant, God’s footstool, could rest permanently. I made the necessary preparations for building it,

Then King David rose to his feet and said,“ Listen to me, my brothers and my people. It was in my heart to build a house as a resting place for the ark of the LORD’s covenant and as a footstool for our God. I had made preparations to build,

Then King David rose to his feet and said,“ Listen to me, my brothers and my people; I had intended to build a permanent home for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for the footstool of our God. So I had made preparations to build it.

Then King David rose to his feet and said,“ Hear me, my brethren and my people: I had it in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God, and had made preparations to build it.

Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: as for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and for the footstool of our God; and I had made ready for the building.

Then King David rose to his feet and said,“ Listen to me, my brothers and my people. It was in my heart to build a house as a resting place for the ark of the Lord’s covenant and as a footstool for our God. I had made preparations to build,

Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people:[ As for me], I[ had] in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:

King David rose to his feet and said:“ Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I wanted to build a temple where the ark of the LORD’s covenant could be placed as a footstool for our God. I have made the preparations for building it.

Then David the king stood up on his feet, and said,“ Hear me, my brothers, and my people! As for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of Yahweh’s covenant, and for the footstool of our God; and I had prepared for the building.

耶和华说：“天是我的宝座，地是我的脚凳，你们要为我造怎样的殿宇？哪里可作我的安歇之处？

要尊崇我们的上帝耶和华，俯伏在祂脚凳前敬拜，祂是圣洁的。

大卫住进宫殿后，对拿单先知说：“你看，我住在香柏木建的王宫中，耶和华的约柜却在帐篷里。”拿单对大卫说：“你有什么想法，就去做吧！因为上帝与你同在。”

主的怒气像乌云一样遮盖锡安城，祂使以色列的荣美从天上坠下。祂发怒的时候并不顾念自己的脚凳。

这样，他就不会妄自尊大，违背诫命，他和他的子孙就可以长久统治以色列。

祂说：“这是我永远的居所；我要住在这里，因为我喜爱这地方。

王的臣仆也来向我们的主大卫王道喜说，‘愿王的上帝使所罗门比王更声名显赫，使他的国比王的国更强大。’王在床上俯伏敬拜，

大卫下令召集住在以色列的外族人，派他们采凿建上帝殿用的石头。大卫预备了大量的铁，用来做门扇的钉子和钩子，又预备了不计其数的铜。他还预备了无数的香柏木，都是西顿人和泰尔人给他运来的。大卫说：“为耶和华建造的殿宇必须宏伟辉煌，闻名于世，而我的儿子所罗门年纪还轻、阅历尚浅，所以我要为这殿预备材料。”因此，大卫在去世前为建殿预备了许多材料。

因为使人圣洁的耶稣和那些得以圣洁的人都出自同一位父亲，所以耶稣不以称呼他们弟兄姊妹为耻。祂说：“我要向众弟兄传扬你的名，在会众中歌颂你。”

大卫夺走哈大底谢侍从的金盾牌，带回耶路撒冷，又从哈大底谢统治的提巴和均两座城中夺走大量的铜。后来所罗门用这些铜制造铜海、铜柱及各种铜器。哈马王陀乌听说大卫打败琐巴王哈大底谢全军，就派儿子哈多兰带着许多金银铜器去朝见大卫王，向他请安，祝贺他打败了哈大底谢。因为陀乌常常和哈大底谢交战。于是，大卫把这些器皿和他从以东、摩押、亚扪、非利士和亚玛力各国夺来的金银都分别出来，奉献给耶和华。

那么，你们一定要立你们的上帝耶和华拣选的人；必须立你们的以色列同胞为王，不可立外族人。

所罗门又说：“我父大卫曾想为以色列的上帝耶和华建殿，但是耶和华对我父大卫说，‘你想为我建殿，这番心意是好的，

大卫住在王宫里，耶和华使他安享太平，不受四围的仇敌侵扰。一天，王对拿单先知说：“你看！我住在香柏木造的王宫中，但上帝的约柜还留在帐篷里。”

约柜安放在耶和华的殿中之后，大卫便派人在那里负责歌乐。

我要向众弟兄传扬你的名，在会众当中赞美你。

‘天是我的宝座，地是我的脚凳，你们要为我造怎样的殿宇？哪里可作我的安歇之处？

“我不为耶和华找到居所，不为雅各的大能者找到安居之处，必不进家门，不沾床，不睡觉，不打盹。”

看啊，我历尽艰辛，为耶和华的殿预备了三千四百五十吨金子、三万四千五百吨银子和不计其数的铜和铁。我还预备了木料和石头。你还要多加预备。

以色列人都聚集到希伯仑来见大卫，对他说：“我们是你的骨肉同胞。从前，即使扫罗做王的时候，率领以色列人出征打仗的仍是你。你的上帝耶和华也曾应许让你做祂以色列子民的牧者和首领。”以色列的长老都到希伯仑见大卫王，大卫与他们在耶和华面前立约，他们膏立大卫做以色列的王，这应验了耶和华借撒母耳所说的话。
