The duty of the Levites was to help Aaron’s descendants in the service of the temple of the Lord: to be in charge of the courtyards, the side rooms, the purification of all sacred things and the performance of other duties at the house of God.

The Levites had the duty of helping the members of Aaron’s family line. They helped them serve in the Lord’ s temple. They were in charge of the courtyards and the side rooms. They made all the sacred things pure and“ clean.” They also had other duties at the house of God.

For their duty was to assist the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the Lord, having the care of the courts and the chambers, the cleansing of all that is holy, and any work for the service of the house of God.

The work of the Levites was to assist the priests, the descendants of Aaron, as they served at the house of the Lord. They also took care of the courtyards and side rooms, helped perform the ceremonies of purification, and served in many other ways in the house of God.

“ but their duty will be to assist the descendants of Aaron with the service of the LORD’s temple, being responsible for the courts and the chambers, the purification of all the holy things, and the work of the service of God’s temple—

For their office is to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the house of the Lord, in the courtyards and in the chambers, and in the purification of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God,

because their duty was to help the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts and in the chambers, in the purifying of all holy things and the work of the service of the house of God,

For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Jehovah, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of the house of God;

“ but their duty will be to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the Lord’s temple, being responsible for the courts and the chambers, the purification of all the holy things, and the work of the service of God’s temple—

Because their office[ was] to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;

Their job was to help Aaron’s descendants in the service of the LORD’s temple. They were to take care of the courtyards, the rooms, ceremonial purification of all holy items, and other jobs related to the service of God’s temple.

For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of Yahweh’s house, in the courts, and in the rooms, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of God’s house;

我又吩咐人潔淨這屋子，然後將神殿的器皿、素祭和乳香搬回那裏。

祭司和利未人的班次，耶和華殿裏各樣事奉的工作，耶和華殿裏一切事奉用的器皿，

猶大的兒子謝拉的子孫，米示薩別的兒子毗他希雅輔助王辦理百姓一切的事。

利未人中有人管理所使用的器皿，拿出拿入都按數目點算。又有人管理器具和聖所一切的器皿，以及細麵、酒、油、乳香和香料。

領他們到耶和華的殿，進入伊基大利的兒子神人哈難兒子們的房間；那房間靠近官長的房間，在沙龍之子門口的守衛瑪西雅的房間上面。

對他們說：「利未人哪，當聽我說：現在你們要將自己分別為聖，又將耶和華－你們列祖神的殿分別為聖，從聖所中除去污穢之物。

於是，他們到裏面去見希西家王，說：「我們已將耶和華的全殿和燔祭壇，以及壇的一切器皿、供餅的供桌，與供桌的一切器皿都潔淨了；並且連亞哈斯王在位犯罪的時候所廢棄的器皿，我們也都預備齊全，分別為聖，看哪，它們都在耶和華的祭壇前。」

靠着殿牆，圍着外殿和內殿的牆，周圍建造了廂房；

門的走廊這邊和那邊都有嵌壁式的窗戶和棕樹；殿的廂房和飛簷也是這樣。

「你要帶利未支派近前來，站在亞倫祭司面前伺候他。他們要替他，又替全會眾，在會幕前執行任務，辦理帳幕的事。他們要看守會幕一切的器具，為以色列人執行任務，辦理帳幕的事。你要把利未人給亞倫和他的兒子；他們是從以色列人中選出來完全給他的。

耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅管轄基利提人和比利提人。大衛的眾兒子都在王的左右作領袖。

其中有二萬四千人管理耶和華殿的事務，有六千人作官長和審判官，

你們要警醒看守，直到你們在祭司長和利未族長，以及以色列的各族長面前，在耶路撒冷耶和華殿的庫房內，把這些過了秤。」

希西家吩咐要在耶和華殿裏預備倉房，他們就預備了。

在這之前，與多比雅結親的以利亞實祭司，受派管理我們神殿中的庫房，為多比雅預備了一間大屋子，就是從前收存素祭、乳香、器皿，和照例供給利未人、歌唱者、門口守衛的五穀、新酒和新油的十分之一，以及歸祭司之舉祭的屋子。

他對我說：「面對空地南邊的房間和北邊的房間，都是聖的房間；親近耶和華的祭司當在那裏吃至聖的東西，也當在那裏存放至聖的東西，就是素祭、贖罪祭和贖愆祭，因此處為聖。

他們宰了逾越節的羔羊，祭司從他們手裏接過血來灑出去；利未人剝皮，把燔祭拿走，再按着父家的班次分給眾百姓，照摩西書上所寫的獻給耶和華；獻牛也是這樣。他們按着常例，用火烤逾越節的羔羊。至於其他的聖物，他們用盆，用鍋，用釜煮了，速速地送給眾百姓。然後他們為自己和祭司預備祭物，因為作祭司的亞倫子孫獻燔祭和脂肪，直到晚上。所以利未人為自己和作祭司的亞倫子孫預備。

對着內院那二十肘，又對着外院的石板地，在第三層樓有樓廊對着樓廊。

他對那歸耶和華為聖、教導以色列眾人的利未人說：「你們將聖約櫃安放在以色列王大衛兒子所羅門建造的殿裏，不必再用肩扛抬。現在你們要服事耶和華－你們的神和他的百姓以色列。你們應當按着父家，照着班次，遵照以色列王大衛和他兒子所羅門所寫的，預備自己。要按着你們百姓的弟兄、父家的班次，侍立在聖所；每父家的班次中要有幾個利未人。要宰逾越節的羔羊，將自己分別為聖，為你們的弟兄預備，好遵守耶和華藉摩西所吩咐的話。」

廂房有三層，層疊而上，每層排列三十間。殿的牆四周有凸出的牆支撐廂房，廂房就不必以殿的牆為支柱。這圍繞着殿的廂房越高越寬；廂房圍着殿懸疊而上，所以越上面越寬，從下一層，到中一層，到上一層。我又見有高臺圍繞着殿，作為廂房的根基，高足足有一竿，就是六大肘。廂房的外牆寬五肘。殿的廂房和那邊的房間中間還有空地，寬二十肘，圍繞着殿。
