The duty of the Levites was to help Aaron’s descendants in the service of the temple of the Lord: to be in charge of the courtyards, the side rooms, the purification of all sacred things and the performance of other duties at the house of God.

The Levites had the duty of helping the members of Aaron’s family line. They helped them serve in the Lord’ s temple. They were in charge of the courtyards and the side rooms. They made all the sacred things pure and“ clean.” They also had other duties at the house of God.

For their duty was to assist the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the Lord, having the care of the courts and the chambers, the cleansing of all that is holy, and any work for the service of the house of God.

The work of the Levites was to assist the priests, the descendants of Aaron, as they served at the house of the Lord. They also took care of the courtyards and side rooms, helped perform the ceremonies of purification, and served in many other ways in the house of God.

“ but their duty will be to assist the descendants of Aaron with the service of the LORD’s temple, being responsible for the courts and the chambers, the purification of all the holy things, and the work of the service of God’s temple—

For their office is to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the house of the Lord, in the courtyards and in the chambers, and in the purification of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God,

because their duty was to help the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts and in the chambers, in the purifying of all holy things and the work of the service of the house of God,

For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Jehovah, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of the house of God;

“ but their duty will be to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the Lord’s temple, being responsible for the courts and the chambers, the purification of all the holy things, and the work of the service of God’s temple—

Because their office[ was] to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;

Their job was to help Aaron’s descendants in the service of the LORD’s temple. They were to take care of the courtyards, the rooms, ceremonial purification of all holy items, and other jobs related to the service of God’s temple.

For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of Yahweh’s house, in the courts, and in the rooms, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of God’s house;

吩咐人潔淨這屋子，遂將神殿的器皿和素祭、乳香又搬進去。

又指示他祭司和利未人的班次與耶和華殿裏各樣的工作，並耶和華殿裏一切器皿的樣式，

猶大兒子謝拉的子孫、米示薩別的兒子毗他希雅輔助王辦理猶大民的事。

利未人中有管理使用器皿的，按着數目拿出拿入；又有人管理器具和聖所的器皿，並細麵、酒、油、乳香、香料。

領到耶和華的殿，進入神人伊基大利的兒子哈難眾子的屋子。那屋子在首領的屋子旁邊，在沙龍之子把門的瑪西雅屋子以上。

對他們說：「利未人哪，當聽我說：現在你們要潔淨自己，又潔淨耶和華－你們列祖神的殿，從聖所中除去污穢之物。

於是，他們晉見希西家王，說：「我們已將耶和華的全殿和燔祭壇，並壇的一切器皿、陳設餅的桌子，與桌子的一切器皿都潔淨了；並且亞哈斯王在位犯罪的時候所廢棄的器皿，我們預備齊全，且潔淨了，現今都在耶和華的壇前。」

靠着殿牆，圍着外殿內殿，造了三層旁屋；

廊這邊那邊都有嚴緊的窗櫺和棕樹；殿的旁屋和檻就是這樣。

「你使利未支派近前來，站在祭司亞倫面前好服事他，替他和會眾在會幕前守所吩咐的，辦理帳幕的事。又要看守會幕的器具，並守所吩咐以色列人的，辦理帳幕的事。你要將利未人給亞倫和他的兒子，因為他們是從以色列人中選出來給他的。

耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅統轄基利提人和比利提人。大衛的眾子都在王的左右作領袖。

其中有二萬四千人管理耶和華殿的事，有六千人作官長和士師，

你們當警醒看守，直到你們在耶路撒冷耶和華殿的庫內，在祭司長和利未族長，並以色列的各族長面前過了秤。」

希西家吩咐在耶和華殿裏預備倉房，他們就預備了。

先是蒙派管理我們神殿中庫房的祭司以利亞實與多比雅結親，便為他預備一間大屋子，就是從前收存素祭、乳香、器皿，和照命令供給利未人、歌唱的、守門的五穀、新酒，和油的十分之一，並歸祭司舉祭的屋子。

他對我說：「順着空地的南屋北屋，都是聖屋；親近耶和華的祭司當在那裏吃至聖的物，也當在那裏放至聖的物，就是素祭、贖罪祭，和贖愆祭，因此處為聖。

利未人宰了逾越節的羊羔，祭司從他們手裏接過血來灑在壇上；利未人剝皮，將燔祭搬來，按着宗族的班次分給眾民，好照摩西書上所寫的，獻給耶和華；獻牛也是這樣。他們按着常例，用火烤逾越節的羊羔。別的聖物用鍋，用釜，用罐煮了，速速地送給眾民。然後為自己和祭司預備祭物；因為祭司亞倫的子孫獻燔祭和脂油，直到晚上。所以利未人為自己和祭司亞倫的子孫，預備祭物。

對着內院那二十肘寬之空地，又對着外院的鋪石地，在第三層樓上有樓廊對着樓廊。

又對那歸耶和華為聖、教訓以色列人的利未人說：「你們將聖約櫃安放在以色列王大衛兒子所羅門建造的殿裏，不必再用肩扛擡。現在要事奉耶和華－你們的神，服事他的民以色列。你們應當按着宗族，照着班次，遵以色列王大衛和他兒子所羅門所寫的，自己預備。要按着你們的弟兄，這民宗族的班次，站在聖所，每班中要利未宗族的幾個人。要宰逾越節的羊羔，潔淨自己，為你們的弟兄預備了，好遵守耶和華藉摩西所吩咐的話。」

旁屋有三層，層疊而上，每層排列三十間。旁屋的梁木擱在殿牆坎上，免得插入殿牆。這圍殿的旁屋越高越寬；因旁屋圍殿懸疊而上，所以越上越寬，從下一層，由中一層，到上一層。我又見圍着殿有高月臺。旁屋的根基，高足一竿，就是六大肘。旁屋的外牆厚五肘。旁屋之外還有餘地。在旁屋與對面的房屋中間有空地，寬二十肘。旁屋的門都向餘地：一門向北，一門向南。周圍的餘地寬五肘。
